  1. I came across an article listing some basic books about how far we have come in space exploration. 17 books that will teach you everything you need to know about space Think of them as rockets for your mind. by Corey S. Powell / Aug.23.2018 / 9:22 AM ET The link is below: by Corey S. 2. Aretha Franklin died today at age 76 from pancreatic cancer. She was a force of nature. NBC's announcement and a video tribute Lester Holt:
  3. Loved this chapter and love Jamie and Lucas. Jamie does seem to attract handsome guys who also happen to be genuinely nice guys too. Somehow I think that his taking it slow with Ben, and not tumbling into the sack at first opportunity indicates it is more than mainly a sexual attraction....but only the author knows and I'm in for the ride wherever he takes us!
  4. Wow, if that 4805 miles was in a week, that's averaging over 685 miles per day which should be about 10 hours a day on the road...not a fun vacation!?

    Update

Congrats on being healthy and a good match for your brother and best wishes for a good reaction and complete remission for him.
  6. Wesley, & Many, Many More!
  7. A very compelling and intense chapter. As a parent, the emotional toll on Jamie's and Lucas' parents really hit me hard.
  8. Steve Jobs started out of his parent's garage. Jeff Bezos started small and his company used all of it's income to expand for years and years. Bill Gates started small too. Zuckerberg and his roommate limited their network to Harvard students at first. So while Reagan probably had no idea of how big these companies would become, they have accounted for a good part of U.S. economic growth over the past quarter century.
  9. Damn! What a terrible development!
  10. I know sci-fi is your first love, but I'm glad you took the chance and branched out and started the Tampa Chronicles as I have really enjoyed them!

    Rogue’s Gallery

So Chandon Bolton, Brayon Hopper, and Robert Turner all share the same birthday 11-25-2001. Giles was born five days later on 11-30-2001 Jeremy Isen was born a little over 8 months later on 8-1-2002 and they all go to the same highschool with Jeremy a year behind the other three. The adults are all over 35 and parental types. Brayon was disowned by his parents and lives with the Boltons. Robert lost his mother, was abused in the child welfare system in MA and now lives with his dad and he is buddied up with Giles, a neighbor. Jeremy was staying with his uncle and the Adams and just learned his parent's were killed in a plane crash. I want the next chapter...which I suspect I will have to wait until late Sunday night or early Monday....
  12. In an unrelated bit of news, I found this:
  13. Fascinating, but in the interest of continued safety my policy would be for the non-infected partner to stay on PrEP e.g. Truvada and the previously diagnosed partner to stay on their current regimen. We've lost too many to this dread disease to ever get complacent until a reliable vaccine is perfected.
  14. Great descriptions of the sights on the road trip.
  15. I don't see any problem with keeping your private life private. As an adult, I've never hung around anyone that was interested in talking socially about their sex life. Likewise, I don't hang around people that make racist or homophobic remarks or jokes either. I usually let them know I'm not amused and walk away and keep walking. At my age, life is too short to put up with bullshit and I certainly don't seem to be lacking in social outings because of my candor. There are lots of places and communities, even in large metro areas that may put on a public face of acceptance of diversity, but it is a facade. Racism and homophobia is alive and well in much of these United States and I expect that is true of the rest of the world as well. So while I don't publicly identify as gay, I have come to the realization that's a part of what I am....
  16. Love the follow-up story! Everything was going good until the last two paragraphs. What a shitty development, especially for Jeremy!

    Chapter 51

Thanks for sharing all fifty-one chapters of this love story with a message. The Carnival was a success and the ending was a happy one.
  18. Let's review and grade: Wildone does an adequate job of listing what happened the past week, but it is a predictable and a bit karaoke and lacks originality and humor after the first offering which actually had a funny line or two.... Overall grade C+ which is actually better than I could do, but hardly up to the standards of Renee!
  19. & Many, many more!
  20. Just read this as it was featured in today's anthology flashback for Desperate Ends for 2012. The story is a very fast read and very well told. The ambiguity as to gender of the main character is clever and the pacing is spot on. Well done!
  21. Jamie does have to grow up and realize you can't protect everyone from everything and that we all make less than prescient decisions.... Stephanie is a keeper and everyone should have a big sister like her. Lucas may be more brother than cousin, but sending those pics was a dumbass thing to do. More please!
