I don't think anyone was too hard on Tyler and yes both friends should have re-connected sooner, but life happens and people do tend to put unpleasantness off.... Thanks for reading and commenting and of course you are right, we all need to love and to be loved.

Dad is clueless and his kids need direction. David, is worried and Jon is a shit for calling him a fag and probably knows it hurts. Suzanne has too much to do and maybe needs to get some counseling herself otherwise how will she figure out what to tell her dad. Dad is drinking way too much for the responsibility he has and for his own health and yes it is now clear he is self-medicating due to his own PTSD. He has most of the symptoms including numbed emotional response, denial, flashbacks, and more from the clues dropped in the last two chapters....

Yeah, I think Isaac and Tyler were both lucky that Isaac didn't keep his promise and went for it, proving that sometimes life is worth taking a second chance.

Tyler had a middle class upbringing in suburbia. He had been a Boy Scout; went to church every Sunday and embodied almost stereotypical middle class American values. Well, my happy 4-20 greeting seems to have worked! Even if the chapter forgot the part where the guys light up.... The attack on Goodland still seems surreal and now that they have arrived back in CA, I wonder what the next move of the cartel will be. Of course I am clueless and can't help but wonder what Mark will spring on us next.... More please....and soon too!

A very fast read, yet over 6000 words. The writing flows well and conveys so well. I'm guessing some will be put off by CJ's interaction with Karl, but I found it consistent. I think it ends up a bonus that Ceasar separates from E&Y and becomes more involved in family investments. The wedding planning sounds about normal. Starts out intimate and uncomplicated and just grows. Finally, the pre-nup, still a good idea but not worth warring over.

Drake is starting to get a clue but keeps focusing on his doubts and worry about the possibility of being burned again. Jimmy is still a gem and despite losing it a bit with Drake, I hope he keeps working on him and doesn't give up. -
So I suspect that Klaus will live up to his bargain and Jake will have his schooling paid for, wherever he attends. The question is, who will be the most hard-headed? Jake, believing Klaus was too hard on the one family member he has left or Klaus, who just walked away from the only man to ever really spark his passion? Truly a lose/lose situation unless someone pulls their head out of their ass.

Well told chapter Dodger, but it's a bit bleak for me and hits too close to too many real life stories I've known... edit: I guess I should add that self-medication is a very common reaction to PTSD. PTSD is a stress reaction and the loss of a spouse and having minor children in the family is a major stress situation and we still don't know if perhaps there are delayed stress reactions from his time in service in addition....So yeah I've known too many stories and many don't have happy ever afters...
