Interesting that so many have such strong opinions before finding out how Mark plays this out. I suspect there are still a few surprises for us and frankly while the whole idea of a menage a trois with Mary Ellen leaves me cold, I can see where a young, inexperienced JJ might be curious. In the whole scheme of things, I never thought Alex and JJ would have a relationship lasting more than perhaps a year, and nothing in the last few chapters has caused me to seriously reconsider that. However, I too must admit, I am more into the Brad-Marc and Will-Zach storyline.

"Oh what a tangled web we weave....." I'm not sure what to make of Jackie or of Mark's whole screwed up family. Right now, it's about less than nothing.... Hopefully, Renee will soon lead us out of the darkness and into the light of understanding, but for now the gloom is almost impenetrable.

I was surprised that Elizabeth assumed she would be doing the bargaining without having to finesse her way into it. She again underestimated Wade and so it seems Nana. The threesome sounds like an adventure for JJ but it may turn out to be a major screw-up in the least favorable way.... More please! And I'm still looking for the next chapter of that other Granger story too being the greedy bastard that I am.

I believe that Mary Ellen is pregnant and that she entrapped Alex. However, I doubt seriously that it turns out as she or even her mother may hope. Again, I suspect Mark has some plans that will play out in due time. He is a wily sort himself... Despite JJ's bitchy personality, he is in a high-stress sport/occupation at a young age and has undergone more trauma than most. That he has endured and succeeded as much as he has, speaks volumes about his resolve and dedication to training and practice. Therefore, I am most worried about him. Darius was not a surprise. Neither was Will or Grand's reaction. Indeed, I suspect the whole family was shocked. That Mary Ellen chose on top of that to make her declaration was all the more shocking and upsetting. I do hope that she is properly rewarded with a little karma in kind of her own.

Poor JJ! He really has been dealt some shitty hands.

Missouri has some of the cheapest gas in the country. Our local station had regular for $1.76, but GasBuddy says that the Costco has it for $1.59 for members! When I was a teenager and first driving, I can remember gas wars and getting gas for less than twenty cents a gallon.

Thinking of the boys watching on tv as their dad is killed is killing me. I couldn't like this chapter at face value, but somehow I wonder if the deaths were faked to make the mob think Cavuto really was dead? One can hope, otherwise it's a pretty bleak ending to the story.

Kitt did hit on the best line of the chapter! But the best conversation was this: “Dude, you screwed around with one of your students?” I asked Grand. He turned bright red, while the rest of us were trying not to laugh our asses off. “He wasn’t my student, he was working for me,” he snapped. “So you screwed around with an employee?” He gave me an exasperated look. “If I am not mistaken, Sam was also working for you as a TA,” Grandmaman said. I think she was enjoying this most of all; she loved to give Grand a bad time about his slutty ways. “That is correct,” Grand said, in his stuffy voice, and that was too much for me, Dad, Zach, Frank, and Grandmaman. We started laughing, and ultimately that made Grand shake his head and grin.
