  1. messages yes, ofcourse, but hell, I sometimes just have to spend too much time away from my guy or my computer And I like being naughty but pictures? my phone doesn't even allow me to send them, can't even upload them to my comp.... Can take them but that's it and there is not that much fun in making pics of yourself and keeping them to yourself... so nope.... But I've got a lot of issues with teens and naked/indecent pictures..... according to my (then) 13 year old lil sister who put pictures of herself looking like a child hooker on places like hyves and such.... When I commented on it she told me that yes she sometimes got messages about it from old guys but she just 'ignored' them..... meh..... she just doesn't see the evil in it and it happens a lot like that until one of those guys gets hold of their address or phone number..... Or publishes them at other places..... but maybe that is just me......
  2. thanks Smarties, things like that are very useful well, I hope I can get the list down to a reasonable amount by the end of this weekend
  3. Break-up suck.... I've never had a nice break-up anyway.... always trouble.... Ahwell, everybody gets over it at some point. Maybe you could barge it at your friends place with a lot of chocolate and funny movies. Sometimes people just want company but don't know how to ask for it and instead push people away. It's always worth a try right?
  4. awwh, how cute ^^
  5. This is my list of 15 uni's that have my subject..... from best rated to worst rated... I'm gonna send emails about my situation to all of them and then I'll probably have a smaller list. After that I'm gonna see if I can get my finances right and gonna apply. I hope I 'll be abe to do that soon..... list: york, Lancaster, Bath Spa, Gloucesrershire, bolton, Chichester, Roehampton, Edge Hill, Huddersfield, Northumbria, Hertfordshire, Glamorgan, Westminister, Plymouth, Middlesex
  6. Right now I'm looking through two league tables (guardians and Pushs) and dotting all the uni's that have creative writing courses combines with lit or anything else fun boring but very useful
  7. Good luck with the work for school, I've been fighting my way through Java lately and I really understand why all those programmer moan about coding all the time have fun
  8. THESE are the 110 uni's I'm allowed to apply to. I need to be able to at least get an official Bachelors degree, since after that one I can do my master practically everywhere.... I want to go next year...... of the dates I saw january 15th was the first I needed to get stuff sorted out (not sure what anymore since I was looking at all different types of websites at the same time....), so yeah, not that much time to sort things out, but at the same time enough to make me decide whether I want to really continue this or not.... ECTS are nice but not something I need to worry about.... *looks* yeah january 15th is deadline for UCAS....
  9. hi guys, I'm getting lost in all of the websites about uni's in the UK. So rather than spending 100 hours looking around for the HOW and WHEN and WHERE I need to make everything work and than spending the next 500 hours looking through 110 uni's that are available for applying to and than figuring out what courses they have. To conclude that I was too late to sign in for anything and need to look for something else entirely..... So I figured I could at least ask you guys for some help. I'm looking for a uni in the UK where I can follow a full English course(undergraduate and also post-graduate if possible) and with writing, editing and other writing and reading related courses. I can follow English at uni in Holland but it's mostly cultural related and there are no writing classes at all. It's main focus is on translating and cultural aspects and I'm not really interested in those. So who knows a good uni that has a good English course or can help me out in another way? Greets Kia The list of uni's I can choose from (from high on the lists to low on the lists) 1. Lancaster (don't have a mail back from them yet) 2. Bath Spa (still in contact) 3. Gloucestershire (got automated mail so no attention yet) 4. Bolton (GOT ACCEPTED IF I HAVE A GOOD IELTS SCORE AND FINISH THIS YEAR) 5. York St Yohn (no mail back yet) 6. Chicester (told me that they would look further at my qualifications if I apply and have a good IELTS score) 7. Roehampton (Crazy people.... >< (see post)) 8. Edge Hill (auto mail) 9. Huddersfield (no mail back) 10. Northumbria (still in contact) 11. Hertfordshire (no mail back) 12. Glamorgan (no mail back) 13. Westminister (auto mail) 14. Plymouth (no mail back) 15. Middlesex (stupid auto mail) 'accepted': Bolton, Chichester auto mail, so not gonna pay attention unless I don't have 6 uni's to apply to: Gloucestershire, Edge Hill, Westminister, Middlesex no mail back: 6 to go
  10. lol, here in holland they actually sued such a website and it got removed from the web. I don't know the specifics any more but I think it was a privacy problem anyways, what is your rank?
  11. I know a few people who have had the shot but neither of them had any after effects. that said, dead body count here is up to 22 (or something like that) and a lot of people are coming down with the flu. In a regular year up to 2000 people die from the flu, and we never hear anything about that either.... I'm not worried, the whole panic at the beginning of the year was overrated, but now they can't just say that they overreacted now can they? no, cause that would mean the government actually is able to make mistakes like that and we can't just blindly follow them.... so yeah, my opinion is that it's overrated and I won't be getting a flu shot.
  12. I love sandwiches. cheese, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, egg, ham and mayonnaise.... ooooh, makes me hungry.....
  13. Unless Iḿ too lazy I always take my shoes of when I get home. Ofcourse, I wear either army boots or high boots which are never nice to sit down on and they're heavy. In the winter I wear slippers or just socks, because we've got tiles or concrete on the floor in some places of the house.... and because I hate having cold feet. But when Iḿ only sitting behind my computer at home for the whole day, I never bother about putting socks on...
  14. to be honest, apart from the looks and some user options I don have much standard ubuntu left.... I've worked with debian for almost a year now and back when I started with it I've researched a lot of different programs which I could use that had high performance and low space usage... so I de-installed a lot of programs and put my own favourites in place of those. I've used gnome as long as I've used debian (and even longer since I used ubuntu-eee (later easy peasy) before I started on debian), but this time I've got the space, the videocard and the RAM to actually play around with it. I've chosen the changing background, so every couple of minutes I see a different solar system picture, which is fun. I also put on some other fun stuff to play around with. For now this is nice, but I'll prob play around with it some more when I have more time (and more options ). Like I said, apart form some desktop enhancements there isn't much of a difference for me. Even the stupid sound problem is something I haven fixed yet on my other 2 debian computers.
  15. they were able to help me on the forum (I posted there before I even made that post), and now I've got my laptop working in a way I loooove ^^ right now the problems are: - freezing (atm, it even froze when I tried to boot it, it went to the desktop and froze) - crappy PDF reader (it only shows pdf's I don't even have options to make it safe where I was reading) - crappy music and video program (both won't play either mp3 or avi, the music program is replaced by audacious [winamp lookalike that actually can use winamp skins and equalizer files, which is great] ) - sound drivers failed (had the same problem on my debian, on that one I de-installed everything and now I have sound, crappy, but it has sound) - no vlc (it isn't on the list of programmable software....) - way too many games (I de-installed everything, but still.... why does it have to be pre-installed with that many games? ) - no root? (I can't seem to be able to log onto root... and now I can't change some folders.....) - no NVIDIA software (which is probably the cause of all the freezing) - can't seem to be able to change language pack to english from dutch The only problem left is the sound, the rest was fixed with some Synaptics settings and a better fitting kernel (newer than the one ubuntu came with). And the sound thing is something a lot of people are trying to get a good fix for....
  16. ask a friend or befriend someone who has had a training My mum has done my hair for almost as long as I know
  17. LOL cuuuute lacey you look very cuddly
  18. happy belated bday babe
  19. Well my Vista works fine now, so I don't have any worries for it at this moment. Also, I know my graphic card software is to blame on the ubuntu side of the computer.... for now I'm very annoyed with ubuntu, this is the second time (like I said in my first post) that I try pre-programmed stuff and not liking it once again... so I might just try to install Debian on it if it doesn't get fixed soon.... right now the problems are: - freezing (atm, it even froze when I tried to boot it, it went to the desktop and froze) - crappy PDF reader (it only shows pdf's I don't even have options to make it safe where I was reading) - crappy music and video program (both won't play either mp3 or avi, the music program is replaced by audacious [winamp lookalike that actually can use winamp skins and equalizer files, which is great] ) - sound drivers failed (had the same problem on my debian, on that one I de-installed everything and now I have sound, crappy, but it has sound) - no vlc (it isn't on the list of programmable software....) x way too many games (I de-installed everything, but still.... why does it have to be pre-installed with that many games? ) - no root? (I can't seem to be able to log onto root... and now I can't change some folders.....) - no NVIDIA software (which is probably the cause of all the freezing) - can't seem to be able to change language pack to english from dutch For now, if I won't be able to fix this within a week or so I'm just gonna go back to debian and try from there.
  20. couple of hours ago I installed ubuntu9.10 in dual boot on my laptop, and nothing but problems ever since... meh... Vista keeps erroring all sorts of programs(mostly IE related like windows side bar and such) and ubuntu keeps freezing everyting I come even remotely close to installing ANYTHING on it, couple of minutes ago it froze when youtube just redirected me to the adobe website.... Meh.... this is crappy like this and I'm not liking it at all I can even listen to music because all the programs that are standard won't run mp3's or avi's....meh......
  21. awwwh, how sweeeeeet!!!! *pats John* glad you're happy ^^

  23. if you come from windows, ubuntu is indeed the most used distro, but like I said, I killed it before so I'm not really comfortable changing anything on it at this time... My uncle recently switched to linux (ubuntu) and he is very happy with it too, he even made a dual boot not 4 weeks later (does remind me that I should tell him to upgrade ) I come from a mostly Mac background, and love Debian, but I'm kind of tired having to spend 2 days getting everything work the way I want it and was wondering if others might have other ideas from debian and ubuntu.
  24. Since I very much dislike my Vista I was planning on getting myself a copy of Win7, WAS.... since I found out that I can only pay by credit card and ofcourse.... I don't have one... So a mail is on the way to Asus to get info on how I will be able to get one anyway.... not sure it will help but heck... worth the try. Also a couple of days ago the new ubuntu got released, ubuntu 9.10. I've been looking at some pictures and reading some stuff but I'm still not sure if I'll install it. I'm gonna dual boot anyway, since I need M$ for some school stuff and games and after 2 months I'm really missing my Linux. Right now my pref in Linux is debian, since I killed ubuntu-eee before because there were too many programs on it and I accidentally deleted the wrong one. ever since I've installed debian a couple of times on 2 different computers (eeepc 7" and my old XP desktop) and I love it, but right now I don't feel like spending a full day looking for the right programs and getting everything to work the way I want to. So who can shed some light on this? Is there an easy way to get Win7 without having the chance that things like cracks and such will ruin my laptop? and is The new ubuntu really good, and pretty 'clean' (aka not too many games and useless programs on it)? Or should I use debian (when is/was the newest version?) or another linux distro that anyone could reccoment? Now I'm quickly getting dressed because I should have left 5 minutes ago and I'm not even dressed.... thnx a lot guys!
  25. *is trying to remember real hard* ..... neh, didn't happen, only one girl but she was bi too
