    Chapter 33

3rd Brigade Headquarters Tennessee National Guard Bartlett, TN General Roger Scarborough wanted to throttle his staff intelligence officer. He needed answers and he needed them fast. His staff G-2 was a ROTC kid named Sanders. Lt. Sanders was smart enough but he was in a job at least two sizes too big for him. His staff intelligence officer should have been a Captain or a Major. Scarborough shook himself: he had to work with what he had; not what he wished that he had. It wasn’t that San
  2. I'm right there with you zombie. This has been a horribly sad disaster. We have many Filipino friends here at GA. I'm from the area Katrina mauled and have been through a similar misery. This storm reminded me of Katrina: things were so badly messed up, that it took several days for us to find out how bad it really was. I have already made a contribution to the red cross disaster relief fund. The adults in the family are talking about giving the children presents but instead of exchanging gifts between adults, we are discussing making a large donation to the relief fund instead. We don't need more junk and they need the help. We have been there and know.

  4. Some people don't need much of an excuse to be a douche.
  5. How about a fun little story that fits none of your categories? The Cloud https://www.gayauthors.org/story/jamessavik/thecloud A fun little story with a neat little twist at the end.
  6. My sexuality and culture are two completely different things. As a Southern person, those two independent things are often at odds. Southern culture is not exactly gay-friendly. It's usually centered around large families, hunting, fishing and testosterone. Anything that doesn't fit that mold is actively discouraged. Early marriages are the norm, as are early divorces, and I often think that alcoholism and spousal abuse are the only thing our "cultures" have in common.
  7. Tired of wearing pants? I sure am. Let's declare this no pants Friday!
  8. Rookie Tech It really does make a difference. Socks and I agree: this is the best way to handle our backed up work orders.

    Chapter 32

Rural Desoto County Near Hurricane Creek & Swamps July 17, 2016 0035 Corporal Kevin Vance blinked back sleep in the passenger seat of a Humvee. The caffeine was wearing thin and it was very dark out on the back roads of rural Desoto County. The terrain was full of small lakes, creeks and Cypress swamps. While most people would pass it by at high speed on the interstate, it was actually a redneck playground. Less than twenty-five miles from Memphis, there was wilderness. The countr

    Chapter 31

Day 2 Fort Detrick, Maryland Virology Division Lab July 17, 2016 0025 The RNA sequence of the Pandora virus was displayed on a large flat screen monitor on the back wall of Dr. Well’s lab. Abigail Ames spoke in her hushed Sydney accent, “What kind of a monster would do such a thing?” Dr. Wells said, “The kind that was told other monsters across the ocean was doing the very same thing.” The results of the computer searches for the splices set into Pandora’s RNA were in and it only ra

  12. To some that's a cop out. If you don't lisp like a leaking steam engine, wear a rainbow t-shirt and drive a Miata, you a either a closet case or a hiding from yourself. It's interesting how some that demand diversity shun it in their own community. I would have more in common with aliens from the Andromeda galaxy than the kids in that video.

  15. What YOU think about YOU is more important than what anyone else thinks about you. Of course by the time you figure that out, you probably aren't young anymore.
  16. Meanwhile in Mother Russia Twilight... It Just Isn't As Cool as the Walking Dead.
  17. Only in crowds and elevators where I can share the joy.
  18. There's a theory that the Christmas star was a supernova. There is some pretty convincing evidence to make the case.
  19. I think I might like Dr. Who if it was on at a regular time on one of the stations I get. I see random episodes out of order and it makes no sense but it seems witty and fun.

    Chapter 30

Air Force One En route to Offutt Air Force Base from Camp David 2320 President Mark Harrison had spent the entire crisis in a command center of one type or another; first at Camp David and now aboard Air Force One. It had been astonishing to watch the federal machine respond to the crisis. Once he had given the order to go to Case Black, the giant machine had leaped into action shaking off the usual glacial pace of the bureaucratic monster like a bad case of fleas. Martial Law gave the PO

  22. Once upon a time it was a rainy Halloween back in the nineties. I decided it was a blockbuster kind of night. I went and was renting I got to it just before a pair of hotties. Being a gentleman I invited them over to watch it. And we partied like it was 1999 and did things that would make the artist formerly know Prince blush. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxvdvoQgAy8 I may not remember their names, but I'll never forget the rash.
