It is August of 2004, the month that the Olympics were held in Athens. Will Schluter will be there, then he'll start his freshman year at Harvard with his cousin Marie. It's a bittersweet event because the man he loves, Travis Buck, has to remain in Hollywood to work on his acting career, and they'll have to deal with being separated by thousands of miles.

Meanwhile, Will's brother JJ is firmly established in New York City, trying to deal with the inevitable challenges life throws at him, while his father Brad will face a crisis that could ruin his marriage.

This continuation of the story that began as “The Last Boys In Clinton” follows George, Lionel, and Lorenzo to Clinton, Tennessee, a suburb of Knoxville.

It will also cover the futures of some of the other major characters from that story.

He'd always liked boys more than girls, but never had a chance to do anything about it - maybe not totally gay, and he wouldn't be sure if you asked him about it, until arriving at the school, that is.

Elisa Davis was a somewhat odd child. Her brother tagged her with the nickname Lis, and it stuck for the rest of her life. Her parents figured out her oddness at a fairly young age.
