Nick and Dave are off to college, but sadly not the same one. While Nick is attending Sapswell with all their friends from secondary school, Dave is commuting every day to Dorcrest Independent College. Staying together when you have to work to see each other every day is hard, especially when a new activity takes over much of Nick's spare time, namely his new rock band.

Most people start college with a very clear idea of what the next few years might hold for them, and Marcus is no exception when he shows up to swim team try outs. What he doesn't count on are his new teammates, and the deep friendship which quickly forms between the four of them as the competitive season progresses.

Attorney Jeffrey G. Adams feels antsy even though life in Chicago is actually going very well. Still, going back home to Texas for the holidays after almost three years away feels like the right thing to do. This is the third book in The Barnstable Chronicles. While you don't necessarily have to read the first two stories to enjoy this one, I highly recommend that you at least read Book One, Stitcher as many of the people and events in that story are referenced here. If you haven't read the second book, Charlie Danner Finds His Way, you can read it at any time.
