My stories live in the everyday - in the quiet, ordinary moments where family, friendship, and love collide. They’re slice-of-life at heart: realistic, grounded, and woven with the kinds of small details that make life feel real, even when they seem mundane.

I write about characters learning who they are, navigating relationships that can lift them up or break them down, and facing choices that often ripple far beyond themselves. Some stories close on a hopeful note, with growth and connection; others follow harsher truths, where endings can be bitter, even tragic. But no matter where they land, each story is about the struggle and beauty of personal growth, and how we’re shaped by the people closest to us.

I am a disabled firefighter/paramedic. I enjoy reading, writing, and occasional video games on pc. I am also a proud father of three.

The two stories I've authored thus far, WORKING IT OUT and BELOVED, can be classified as "growing up gay" works, I think. The protagonist(s) are outed or come out to family and friends, sometimes moving from questionable support or lack of support for their orientation among significant others into strong commitments which permit them to mentor others. Religious affiliations of the heroes and their real or adoptive families are portrayed as supportive of gays, who often seek formal recognition .

My writing explores the human experience and focuses on characters finding their way. It is often reflective or descriptive of the emotional, spiritual, and profound discovered in life’s moments. I love words that carry unexpected insight; Contrasting or seemingly dissimilar ideas that suddenly align in moments of epiphany.

A proud father of four, Headstall's personal journey has been a series of twists and turns, and his stories often reflect his experiences. He is an unapologetic romantic who writes from the heart.
