Dark's stories follow the lives and times of mature adults in a myriad of environments. They can be serious at times with an occasional perceptive observation on human nature and society. Dark's characters are often feisty and sarcastic, and plagued with a peculiar stubbornness regarding reality.

David McLeod writes stories set both in a medieval fantasy world and in various Earth-analogues that touch that world from time to time. While admitting a debt to a youth wasted on fantasy and role-playing games, his goal is to bring fresh heroes, villains, and ordinary people into worlds different, but not so different, from our own.

Writing stories since 2000 in the science fiction, fantasy and modern genres. He's known for his strong characters and political intrigue.

I write science fiction, historical fiction and poetry, and often a mix of the genres.

For the vast majority of my life I’ve lived in London, England, and worked in healthcare. Both have given me the chance to meet many different people in many different situations, which have all coloured my writing.

I am fascinated by how we live our lives, and as gay men how we find places for ourselves in today’s world, and how we lived in the past. So much of my writing tries to explore this, but it also explores issues and subjects that interest me or make me angry. Behind every headline is a story too.

I want to find the people in the situations and stories I write about.
