Puppilull's poetry prompts - 14. Poetry prompt 10 - Italian sonnet

With palest sunlight caressing my face

I stand in a golden morning so bright

Meeting sacred dawn after a long night

All by myself in this secretive place

Alone in the world and feeling strange

In my isolated tiny bubble

Though beneath the surface there is trouble

Making my universe tilt and lives change

My body heavy and no longer mine

A familiar sensation makes me weep

Inside two humans that slowly entwine

Stirring emotions that run very deep

In youth I’d be joyful, up on cloud nine

Now I’m so happy to wake from my sleep

I finally remembered a dream! A simple one that was mostly one scene, but I'll take what I can get. LOL I hope I can convey the feeling in it.

I guess you had the same dream as my sister. lol

I don't know why I always have to read your poems aloud to get into the melodie. This time I was alone, though. So no weird reactions from other people. And yes, I like it. :)

Ha, ha! Good thing you got through it without looking like a looney! I think my background in theater and singing might mean I subconsciously go for theatrics.

Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Thanks for taking the poetry prompt challenge! It's a good sonnet, for with the Italian form, dreams are perfect to explore. I like how the 'kissing rhymes' (the b-b words) sound natural and comfortable together. That's impressive, and part of why the form is a challenge in English.

I like how the poem seems to capture the unsure nature of the dream, or what it means, and telegraphs it well. I like that aspect a lot!
