Ahh Granny's got a plan for her little Alley Cat.

Alvin must navigate the diabolical machinations of a woman hell bent on getting him out of his rut.
The trouble is, it involves a certain gardener named Tabby, while dodging the attention of the Higgins Clan and navigating the web of twisted games that spans the entire town.

Will he survive with his bachelordom intact, or is he doomed to a happily ever after fate half baked into a Hallmark nightmare?

City guy Alvin is in Merrickville because he has inherited his grandmother's house. A 'charming cottage' that is totally outside Alvin's comfort zone. He soon discovers that the cottage, or rather the garden, comes with a resident gardener, Tabby, who is also outside Alvin's comfort zone.

Alvin has to weave his way through his relationship with the cottage, the neighbours, the township, winter and Tabby to fulfill the conditions of granny's will.

We follow Alvin's first year in the cottage as Granny's plan for her two kittens is revealed.

This story is fun and entertaining, while having serious messages on acceptance, relationships, independence and, of course, love.

You will enjoy reading this story and if you are a Merrickville fan, you will love it.

A colourful, witty and rollicking tale about a Katz, Alvin affectionately known as Alley Cat by his late grandmother, having to fulfil certain conditions to inherit the dreaded Doily Dungeon from her. Failure to fulfil these conditions will result in the property being transferred to cats, strays in the care of the local shelter.

A quirky cast of human, botanical and inanimate "characters" (Granny's heirloom tomatoes and dreaded decorative items, including a plethora of doilies, possessing "larger than life" personas of their own) seduced this reader, until now a "virgin" to the talents of the author, @Topher Lydon. V-card now taken, more lustful encounters await.

A wonderful story that will tug at your heartstrings.

Granny recently deceased, has a plan for Alvin (Alley Cat) which involves living in a house for a year.

Alvin thinks it will be easy, but throw in the gardener Tabby and the Higgins clan.

And poor Alvin, has to deal with plenty.

Give it a read.

Your grandmother left you her cottage and accoutrements. Not the least was a tall, good-looking, lanky gardener...

The cottage is yours if you occupy it for a year, or it is sold for charitable causes. And do not forget the quirky neighborhood denizens who have a betting pool on your abilities to fulfill the terms of Granny's will...

If Hallmark could produce a movie like this I'd actually watch it.

Granny was a schemer, but in the end she knew what was best.  This is a great medium sized story that is both funny and well thought out.  But I can't give too much away about these cats, (or is it Katz?) you'll have to check it out yourself. You won't be disappointed because it's disgustingly cute.

Yes, Granny did have a plan for her graphic designer, big city nephew Alvin and her cottages' resident, earth child gardener Tabby. She left her home to Alvin subject to meeting certain conditions over a year or it would be sold to support a nearby cat shelter .Will Alvin and Tabby get along. How will Alvin handle the scrutiny of the townsfolk and the tests of owning an older home and busy garden ?

Read on and enjoy how the two grown together and handle their differences. You will find out Granny was a very wise and insightful woman
