The Neverending Book - 41. Fire

Fire

With the ability & power to fruitfully create,
or with destructive intentions it can truly eliminate.
Fire is the element of death and rebirth,
It has done so since the beginning,
That is its mission on Earth.
To provide man with the power to cook, sterilize, and light,
this cosmic energy was not born to cause fright,
for without it one could not see in the night,
and blurred by its darkness unable to see what's in sight.
Though it can burn villages if used and not careful,
light a candle in from of you, and see just how beautiful.
This is one of man’s teachers; it is a reflection of the soul.
How raging and fierce it becomes when one lacks control.
You must be able to learn how to tame this flame,
and with your spirit, you must also do the same.
