The Neverending Book - 8. The Maze

The Maze

You are in a daze through your days.
You are in a maze. You are in a haze.
You feel as though you cannot escape,
Like a superhero who has lost their cape.

You are tired. You feel drenched.
And, yet, your soul is not quenched.
It feels as though you are under a spell.
You feel as though you, somehow, fell.

You can already feel it.
You can somehow tell.
You do not feel well.
You must bid this farewell.

You feel hollow as you follow this dark road as you swallow,
This large pill as you climb this hill.
You wonder how this could be in this way.
You wonder if this will go away.

Understand, that, right now, today,
Your maze is yourself and that is why it will stay.
Do not be afraid. There is a way out,
By believing in HIM, truly, without anymore doubt.
