Weird and fun story with a few fantasy elements and dream-like quality. The story blends surreal elements with real-world equivalents, like Pepsi (I am a Coke guy myself, but I won't hold it against you as "I do the Dew" too :P ). It's an offbeat fantasy/dream story, maybe even an Isekai story if you wish to pursue it further.

I didn't know whether to laugh, cry or get sick, but I just couldn't stop reading.  I love anthologies, and this is an example of why they are so much fun.  Inspired by a few comments, drsawzall has crafted a very unique world that touches briefly on so many different fantasy worlds to create this delightful story.  He has definitely stepped out of his usual style, and it is a fun read.  I would definitely read a longer book based on the main character and this unique world.

This was a unique combination of western and maritime lore, along with limited portions of Gaelic, Viking, and Greek mythology, with some Haitian folklore mixed with the voodoo religion.  If you want to read something interesting, unusual, and written by someone who thinks out of the box, then you'll find this story highly entertaining.  I suggest you give it a try!

A snippet of a strange world, part Twilight Zone, part Wild, Wild West, with the ads for products, even!

Definitely a unique take on the history that wasn't, and more than worth the too-short read. Another fifteen chapters would have been great!

Thank you for your wonderful review!!!
