Black Widow 16. Chronicles Of An Academic Predator (CAP)

   (4 reviews)

This story starts in June of 2003. The invasion of Iraq is over, George Bush has landed on the aircraft carrier and proclaimed "Mission Accomplished", and the insurgency has yet to begin. Some may think America is at the height of its power.

Meanwhile, in the CAP world:

JJ and Will, both in doomed relationships that seem to be working. Will they unravel, and if they do, who is behind it?

Some real-life people and institutions are included in this story for historical context.  This story is fictional.  These people probably did not do the things I have them do.

Having enjoyed this long multi volume saga for years it is great to reach the end of this particular novel.  It was delayed for long periods due to events beyond the author's control and as such became hard for me to follow even with the re readings which I was glad to do.  For those that follow it can now be read in one reading and will be a pleasure for anyone connected to this saga.  This chapter moves the family into a new position and prepares us for the next historical drama.  I suspect that I will enjoy the next adventures as well.  I hope others will join us Mark Arbour readers in this and the other fine historical adventures which are some of my absolute favorites over my many years at GA

Being part of a decade-long running saga is one thing, but pulling off an individual masterpiece is another.

Having Read this bit bit has been a real pleasure, awaiting episodes and all the epilogues (!), but now it's time to get down to some serious stuff and read from start to finish.

great drama and gifted story-telling.  Enjoy, I will

If you have never read any of @Mark Arbour's stories then you must have been living on Mars for the past 10 years!

You need to go back to book 1 of CAP and start from there - although each story can be read individually you will miss out on so much if you do not start at the beginning.

Mark brings all the characters to life in every story and describes every aspect of their lives from love to hate to tragedy and joy.

Reading Marks' stories (including the Bridgemont series) will take you a while but it'll be worth it - something to add to your bucket list.

Although this isn't strictly a review of this story per se I hope I've given you a push in the right direction.
