Another excellent story by our author.

This is a little outside of tim's normal tale but it's wonderful.  Charlie decides to travel much to his parent's surprise, rather then going straight on to university . He has his reasons for doing so.

Don't miss reading this terrific sweet tale.

Response from the author:

Thank you, Michael. xo

We follow Charlie, a young man who decides to take a gap year, so he can discover himself, before he settles down to serious studying.

We follow him as he goes on a road trip to USA, that provides him with a life changing experience. He meets Tom in NY who teaches him many things, over the few days they are together. Charlie also discovers that he is lonely and misses his family.

His greatest adventure occurs whilst at Uni, he learns that family and love are important to him.

A fantastic read.

Response from the author:

Thanks, chris. I appreciate it. I think school is great, but so is the wide world and experience. :)

When Charlie decided to defer a year at university and go to US on a road thrip, little did he know that it would be lifechanging experience. Finding Tom in NYC has been everything he was dreaming about. Patient lover, gentleman with respect, understanding man, Tom has brought Charle into the adulthood in a most memorable way. At the same time, this youthful innocence and energy, moves Tom from lethargy, making him believe that life is worth living. As well as Charlie, Tom learns something in this brief relationship.

Charlie learns the significance of family and that home is his rescue place whenever he needs it. Finishing education, Charlie finds Eddie, the love of his life, learning that some things are worth waiting for...

So...learning, learning, learning...and not just in school - learning from life and experiences too. @Mikiesboy shows the significance of learning in this beautiful short story. Whole life is learning - knowledge and experience is something nobody can take away from us!

Response from the author:

Thanks, Cane. I firmly believe that the Universe brings us the right energy when we need it most. This story does that for both Charlie and Tom. Thanks for reading and your excellent review of this short story.

A thoughtful and compelling coming of age/coming out tale.  I loved the diverse exploration of several well thought out and believable characters.  There is a lot of life crammed into a few words.

Recommended if you enjoy exploring the human experience from many angles.  @Mikiesboy leaves the reader in a good place but with a hunger to know more.  Well written!  Thank you for sharing!

Response from the author:

Thank you so much for this thoughtful review. I love short stories because they force you to organize everything into a shorter format. Thank you again for your thoughts and kind words.

A beautifully written story about an older teens journey to find himself and discover what he wants out of life.  Tim's descriptions are both sensitive and probing as he expresses Charlie's thoughts and emotions as he delays college for a year so he can travel around the US, meet other people, and explore whatever is out there.  I highly recommend this story for anyone looking for a little adventure, a touch of romance, and a happy ending.

Response from the author:

Thanks, Bill W, for taking the time to read and review this. I appreciate it.

As far as the "In Too Deep" theme goes, this character experiences it twice...once in adolescence, and then more progressively in his adult life. While I didn't relate with the main character much, I do thoroughly enjoy this writer's style, and I equally enjoyed reading this story. Nicely done.

Response from the author:

I am sorry this is so late. I've been away a lot; thank you for your patience. I appreciate the kind and thoughtful review.  :)

This is by far, one of the best short form coming of age stories I've read in a long time. tim's a master-wordsmith with not only his poetry, but also in is creative writing. It shows in his descriptions of the time Charlie spends with Tom in New York City, and later on when speaking with Eddie.

Each word and sentence is crafted to paint a portrait that is more than the sum of it's parts.

10/10 would highly recommend.

Response from the author:

Thank you, @Brayon. You're very kind, and I appreciate your review of this short story. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Not sure how I missed this little gem. It’s a lovely tale of the “perfect” son setting out to find himself and how he struck gold.  It’s beautifully written, of course, and well worth a read.

its put a smile on my face and brought some memories back.  Well done 👍

Response from the author:

Thank you, Gary. I'm glad you enjoyed this story. I appreciate your time and comments.
