Wayne's Poems - 7. Bone Deep

Tried to challenge myself to write with a 3 and 4 syllable count. It's HARD. lol

It's bone deep.
I don't know why,
yet, it is.

Limited,
it's what I am.
I'm just me.

Not enough?
Neither are you.
Pair of fools.

But, you're mine.
And I am yours.
It's bone deep.

Difficult you may have found it, but I think you carried it off very, very well. It's a great challenge. I like the conversation you built into so very little space.

Thanks, Parker.

Isn’t it, though? I think this piece is brilliant. May I use it as an example for my students next year?

Certainly!  Thanks for asking, and considering it worth sharing with your students.

It’s plain to see

With each new task,

Poetry is a genre

Your skill can surpass.

Limitless, are you

In storytelling, too.

Waves of emotion

At sea in your words.

Surf go your readers

On sensitive turf.

Guided by hands

That till literary earth.

My amateurish attempt at saying your poetry rocks as well as your stories do.

I think you did well. I really like it! :)

Thanks.  It's fun to put up a little tiny box and try to work within those parameters.  See what comes out when you do.

"Not enough? Neither are you" ouch, that hurts. Lol.

I know, I know. Syllable controls are damn hard. I tried Nonet once! 🥲
