Wayne's Poems - 5. Your Part

Do you ever stop and stare,
Stock still in the dark,
Wondering if love is there,
Where light left its mark?

Have you ever yearned so deep,
See the prize ahead,
Risk it all, forego your sleep,
Push toward instead.

Until you do, you can't know,
The beat of my heart,
The blood will not ever flow,
Till you feel your part.

Can't you feel your part?

Beautiful! Like tim says, people will start calling you a poet, soon. ;)

The stars have to align just right (or wrong) for me to write poetry.  It's how I am.  The cider helped too.

You do come up with a lot of good stuff when you drink cider. ;)

I liked this; it’s insistent and compelling.

Thanks, Parker.  If something wants out, then I will let it free.  Poetry is something I can't force, though it is something I can choose to ignore.  I'm... mostly glad I let this one out.
