Adan is a mage in training. After accomplishing a feat less than a hundred mages have ever completed, he has earned the admiration of his master. But he has also gained attention from the king of Meras himself.

Now Adan must navigate the intricacies of a royal court with his familiar at his side. Will he be able to survive the court? Or will the mage be left to hang in a world every bit as deadly as a battlefield? Only time will tell.
