Cole, I'm flattered that you found inspiration from my stories. I work at trying to present the rural setting in an honest way. Well, an idealized honesty. I'm glad they resonate with a fellow farm boy. Lisa, defintely kindred souls in being buried in the books together. It's funny but I never think of the stories as westerns. They absolutely are, but for some reason I never think of them in those terms. Just a couple who are dealing with the crap life throws at them. I know, I'm trying to update at least once a month. It's kind of a challenge. But be sure and check out the flash stories on my blog ( jonkeys.com ). Maybe that will help tide you over until the next chapter arrives. :-)

Glad you enjoyed Wrangler Butts from the beginning, Myiege. I'd agree, Darin and Mitch are very masculine guys. I enjoyed doing the interview too. It's always nice to pause and reflect on what a person has accomlished.

Ron and Stephan Thanks so much for the comments. It's so gratifiying to hear about the impact of my writing from others who see it in a different light than I do. I have to say, Stephan, your comment about a dazzling message of hope left me a little choked up.

Brown and crunchy with heat, not my favorite kind of weather. The cost of food is going to skyrocket too, just can't wait for that.
