If I am a pest please let me know ...

Okay, I haven't had time to do things like I would like to. Been more of respond to problems then have time to relax and do what you want. My bright spot has been mail, or it was until today.

I am one of those people who enjoys getting mail. A postcard, card, or note can do wonders for me. Just knowing someone took the time to think of me makes me smile. However today I got an email asking me not to send so many postcards and cards. Seems I am a disruption instead of making them happy.

Basically then this note goes out to those of you here whose address I have. So I'll ask you now, if I am being a pest and you don't want mail from me just let me know. I'd rather think I was doing something to make you smile then piss you off.

Thanks,

Wayne

I can't help wondering if this is not some absurd surrealist provocation post! Who on earth, I mean, just who on earth objects to getting personal mail to the point where they actually write to the sender to complain? Does this person have nothing better to do than complain about people being overly nice?

Here's an idea. Save up all the money you would have spent on mail - materials and postage - to this person, and at Christmas send them an envelope containing a short explanation along with the a note of the amount of money, and a self addressed postcard on which they can nominate a charity for you to donate it to. Tell them you have so much pleasance just bursting out of you that you have to have an outlet for it, lest it sits in a corner of your heart, and goes off and gets bitter. And thank them ever so much for allowing you to direct your human warmth to a place where it is appreciated.

Honestly. Some people have so little to do, and so little intelligence to do it with, they deserve themselves. :)

Perhaps the person feels uncomfortable because they are not able to reciprocate equally and return as many cards as they receive?

No. You are not annoying.

You want annoying? Old people who discover email and know your email address. Now- THAT'S ANNOYING!

I am the computer consultant to the old folks at my Mom's church. I advise them on what to get, set it up for them and show them where to go to get free training. I make a little money by fixing things they botch up and keeping them running.

Once they discover how to use email, I get recipes, cute grand baby pictures, forwarded jokes and all sorts of geezer spam I don't really want. And I've got to look at all of it because in the mounds of crap are occasional requests for services.

Upside: I'll be publishing a collection of ten thousand casseroles recipes.

Downside: I hate ALL of them.

Don't you dare stop sending them to me, Stuby and Kate! I can't believe someone would complain about that. Unc you're a treasure, and never ever a pest. And don't you dare start beating yourself up about this either. Or I swear I'm coming after you with a size 13 goth boot mister.

I agree with NNN. Who on earth does not enjoy getting mail? When I come home to see a postcard from Germany or a letter from Florida, it makes my day!

Very strange response to getting mail! I guess the person has their own issues that they are dealing with. I love getting mail. Tried to get my facebook friends to do letter writing and got a few responses, but I always want more. You're a good-hearted guy who loves to connect. I'm sure all your other correspondents just love to get a postcard from you. :)

There are more morons in this world than the kind-hearted. The best way to deal with these idiots is to ignore them. The more thought and understanding you provide them, the more obnoxious they get. Personally, I will be feeling admired if someone sends me a letter in post. We only get bills and notifications these days. All personal mails come via email. :'( while it is all economic and good to send mails electronically, it lacks the warmth of a physical letter.
