Today is not a good day - update 10/7/19

I have a questions for you Guys and Gals how many of you Check for lumps?

Let’s have a show of hands?

Hum not many why?

Don’t think it can happen to you?

I thought that till today. I found a lump in my right breast, Yes, I’m a guy and Yes we do get them. I’m concerned about this, who wouldn’t be. Everyone thinks the Big Cancer. Now the waiting and the worrying begins. Can’t get into the Doctors till Monday. I so wish you could turn off negative thoughts. I would so love that off button right now. Trying to stay positive and take it one day at a time.

So Guys and Gals take the time feel for lumps.

Don’t be ashamed.

Guys do it for yourself.

Do it for the people you love.

Do it for your partners

Here is a web site to educate yourself.

Aw, rick i am sorry you're going through this. It's scary. But you are doing the right thing and the brave thing by facing it head on.

You're also doing a generous thing by sharing information with others.

I've been to the doc's about lumps in the past in various places other than the breast. It is scary but we just need to deal with it.

Hang in there my friend. xo

thanks my friend.

if I can help just 1 person than it will be worth it. We all think we can never get sick or hurt. So right now I‘m sure it is nothing, that’s what my heart tells me, but my mind is going down that path of every negative thought. So I then find a quiet place get rid of this thought. I’m focused on things I can do and try not to worry about the “what if’s” Monday will come and I will find out for sure.

tim you hang in there yourself xo

I am a breast cancer survivor. Right now the best thing you can do besides staying as positive as you can is to be PROACTIVE. Do not let facilities tell you appointments are not available, or let the insurance companies slow things. Be noisy! Dont take wait for an answer.

Beyond that, my prayers are with you. PM any time you like. I will be glad to explain anything you may need clarity on, and generally lend support. It could be a simple cyst, and that is what we will hope for.

Kitt

thank you - I have a great primary care doctor and we get along great. So the Monday appointment works for me. So thank you the offer of help. I’m hoping it is just a cyst. I just want to know.

Breath and call the doc. Dont take an apointment next week for an answer

You need info to settle your mind

As @Kitt has said, you're doing the right thing by getting it checked out.  Try to not let the brain get too far ahead of things - something that I know is much easier to say than to do.

My step-mother died breast cancer -- from a slow-growing cancer that could have been easily treated if she had gone in to get the lump checked out that she knew was there -- that she knew was there for almost TEN YEARS. Her fear of getting confirmation of what she knew it was led to it spreading into her bones.  Cancer in bones is not a nice way to go. 😢

Don't ignore these things people, please. Get them looked at.

Will keep you in my thoughts rick

It's good to be cautious and have a checkup, but keep in mind 80% of these lumps are benign.
