He is now saying (without any evidence) that diversity hiring schemes in air traffic control were to blame for the tragic loss of 67 lives in yesterday's air collision over D.C. You just couldn't make it up - though of course he's very "good" at that as well.

As is often said, if you repeat a lie often enough (without anyone refuting it) then eventually it will become the "truth". With most main stream media in the US (and increasingly here in the UK) not being able to call out the lies/half-truths/falsehoods for what they are it is going to be a long 4 years!

This is a message to anyone in the US (or anywhere else, come to that) - don't give up hope. Eventually he will be but a distant memory and all that will have been ripped asunder under his reign (as he's definitely acting as if he's an old style autocratic King) can start to be repaired.

I just hope that those who voted for him will come to realise what they have done!

Indeed it’s going to be a long four years. I’ve been preoccupied since the summer with supporting alternative and independent media as much as I possibly can. I think much of our hope lies with voices as diverse as the (primarily) former Republicans at the Bulwark to Brian Tyler Cohen to Tennessee Brando and other Meidas creators.

I resolved after November to do something every single day. Mostly that’s involved phone calls and writing to elected representatives and sharing info about people actually doing good work.

All of it weighs heavily on me, especially the question of what sort of world we’re leaving for our children. I think it was today that references to climate change were scrubbed from the EPA website. We are going to have to be intentional about saving and archiving information in places outside government control in this post-truth era. (And how insane does it feel to type that?!)
