Alternative, more senual synonyms?

BTW, I already know that euphemisms get ridiculous, that's why I was asking here to see if there was somehow a few synonyms I missed that would work well so you can stop yelling at me now <_<

 We didn't mean to do that!

The rhetoric of sex is very interesting. The less specific it is, the more romantic. "Are you coming upstairs?" vs. "Will you come f**k me?"

I know of no American male that would refer to his dick as a penis in everyday speech.

Actually I disagree. I know of quite a few guys would casually refer to the organ - whether their own or someone else's - as a "penis", without any silliness or purposeful disassociation.

Basically... i got sick of so often seeing porn between people who obviously didn't care about each other and were just in it to get off that I decided to try to write a few more... sensual stories, focusing on sex between loving partners. Granted, this will not exactly solve my problem of few video porns where the "actors" manage to act like they love each other... but it will serve the purpose of scratching an itch of mine if nothing else.
See, my problem is trying to satisfy two things... I want to be as descriptive and explicit as possible.... but between two people who clearly care about/love each other... so... explicit but not... dirty....

Its a fine line perhaps but I'm trying to make it work....

The key then - IMO - is not how you write the sex scenes; it's how you write the non-sex scenes. I agree with you the sex scenes - including the explicit ones - are much hotter when you depict them as taking place between characters who really care about each other and as the culmination/continuation of some very serious feelings. However, that needn't really be done in the sex scene itself.

If you do a good job characterizing the major players (well let's hope they're not players if this is a romantic story :boy: ), and you've previously done a thorough job explaining how and why they feel what they do for each other, then the very same sex scene which might seem purely pornographic out of context can take on a very romantic twist (and still be hot).

Like Hylas said, you can be playful with it to convey a deeper relationship. Even if you use words you'd rather not use, it can still come off as loving/in a relationship----don't use words like "shove, force, ram" because that associates something rough and perhaps non-intimate and just sex. Although you can be in a realtionship and get rough, too, but that's another story. :D

Words like : gently, caressed, slowly, carefully, tenderly, lingering gazes----imply more of a relationship, if that's what you're trying to convey. Then you can use the word cock or dick and it wouldn't really take away the loving aspect of the sexual act. Or if you're really against those words, try using: his member, his hardness, his length, width, etc.

I use a combination of all the above in my story and it's still obvious all the characters clearly love one another.

EXACTLY! Just avoid things that obviously make it unromantic, and perhaps try to use a few sensual adjectives and adverbs (as opposed to trying to rely heavily on nouns).

Another good method is to write your "standard love scene" and then just inject a few emotive moments. For example:

John had never felt quite as safe as he did in that moment

Or:

He couldn't believe how strongly he felt as he gazed at Max.

You might also try emotive phrases that have a subtle, double meaning, like:

As he looked into Brad's eyes he was overcome with an odd blend of extreme peace and calm coupled with a desperate need to move in even closer and deeper ("closer" and "deeper" could thus take on both a very nice, obvious meaning, as well as a more subtle, lusty connotation).

Or:

He knew as he wrapped his arms around his lover that he'd finally found the person who fit him perfectly (think about the different levels of meaning)

Just a few thoughts,

Take care,

Kevin

One option is to write a love scene, but in such a way so that you don't need to reference the anatomical bits that seem contentious. :)

Happiness was great! If it wasn't so good, I wouldn't have emailed your sorry @$$! Hey, did I tell you my German friend really liked it, too, and he doesn;t usually go for one-shot stories.

And it was graphic. It all comes down to imagination I guess.

Hardness is one I use often. I do try to convey the more sensual side. I have, however, used something a little more graphic, but it was not a scene that i wanted to be sensual. It was more or less hardcore in nature. A good one I have heard recently is casanova curve. :P

 Casanova curve!?! That's a new one! Never heard that one before....gave me a good laugh. Wouldn't that make an awesome title for a story.

I call dibs! :D
