You've been so good at finding stories for me I'll try for another.

Something at the back of my mind tells me this is a Jack Scribe story, set in/around Las Vegas, but I've looked at his stories a couple of times and haven't found it.  What I remember about this story is that there's a youngish, well-to-do, big house, couple of guys who rescue and provide for young gay guys, eg. thrown out of home and in trouble because they have to hustle for food.  I recall one kid getting beaten up in an alley and they pick him off the pavement.

One part I recall in particular is about a kid who escapes from home to take a Greyhound bus to the place in question.  He misses the last bus and has to hide overnight in bushes near the bus station to get the first one the next morning.  I think the driver realises the kid doesn't have enough money to go all the way, but he takes him anyway.

Any ideas?

Thanks Benji, I knew someone would be able to point me to the story.  I am and I'm not surprised it's by Jack Scribe, formerly because I was sure ti was one of his and browsed through the stories but didn't find it.  It was an enjoyable, moving and, at times, disturbing story.  I look forward to rereading the trilogy.

Jack Scribe's Desert Fantasies is a good story, but not the one I was looking for.  As said above, the one I'm after involves a young guy running from a gay-unfriendly home and he has to hide in bushes overnight to wait for an early Greyhound bus to somewhere.  There's a young rich couple who find and house him - along with several other similar teen kids.  I recall a kid who gets trapped in a alley, beaten and dumped on the pavement and the couple find and rescue him.

Any thoughts?

Two stories I can think of that sort-of fit the description:

The Foley-Mashburn Saga by Brew Maxwell over at CRVBoy. That story is set in Florida, though, not Las Vegas, and I don't recall anyone missing a bus and having to hide overnight.

Another possibility is the Paternal Instincts, Family Fiction and Thicker Than Water series by Nick Archer, over at Archerland. Again, I don't think it's exactly what you're looking for, but it might be....
