methodwriter85 Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Chapter 1-When Will and Wade ride on their horses, and discuss their plans for the summer of 2001. What a great summer song.-When Wade tells Will about his beloved horse."Wildfire" by Michael Martin Murphey -When Will gets his ass kicked for sleeping with Kyle. -When Will decides to cut Kyle off because the drama just isn't worth it.
centexhairysub Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 I love that Nelly song. Awesome! Well, I loved all the songs except this one... I just always hated Nelly... He is in that group with P Diddy or whatever he calls himself that to me never had any talent except self promotion...
methodwriter85 Posted April 15, 2013 Author Posted April 15, 2013 Well, unfortunately for you, Nelly was pretty big from 2001 to about 2004-ish, so...I can't really avoid his music.
Mark Arbour Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 And he's a local St. Louis boy. Some trivia. He mentions "Frontenac" in his song. For those of you non-St. Louisans, Frontenac is a tony suburb of the city known for it's mall, which has a Neimann Marcus at one end and a Sak's 5th Avenue at the other.

I am SHOCKED, shocked I tell you, that you know where to find a mall with a Neiman Marcus at one end and a Sak's 5th Avenue at the other. Edited April 15, 2013 by methodwriter85 1
methodwriter85 Posted April 18, 2013 Author Posted April 18, 2013 Chapter 2 -When Will thinks over the triangle with Erik and Kyle, and later on when he contronts Marie, who's not that innocent. 1
centexhairysub Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 I know it is totally bubble gum rock but I loved that song... It is a great choice for that moment at the dinner table...
methodwriter85 Posted April 20, 2013 Author Posted April 20, 2013 Chapter 3 -When the gang discusses Hank, and Will deduces that someone's found their gravy train. -When we meet Hank, who's just a little too aggressive with the family and in particular, Will. -When Will gets a Happy Ending from his massage therapist that looks like Javier Bardem. You gotta love how barely-veiled hip-hop is about sexual references. LOL. Timbaland boots were soooooo popular with the urban crowd back then. It was a weird culture shock when I lived in Western PA, and Timbalands were instead being worn by white fraternity guys.
centexhairysub Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Really like all the choices that you have picked out... There was a song by a band called Eden's Crush that sort of fit the situation with Will and Hank going at it but damn, I just can't remember the name of it... Great work...
centexhairysub Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Okay, I have two suggestions for chapter 4... When Will is telling Tony about his situation with Kyle, " Follow Me " by Uncle Kracker and then when Tony tells Will he loves him, " Don't Tell Me " by Madonna... What does everyone think???
methodwriter85 Posted April 25, 2013 Author Posted April 25, 2013 I can't with "Follow Me." I'm sorry, that's a song from 2001 that still makes me twitch today. Chapter 4 -When Will contemplates high school relationships, and doesn't know if he'd want to get that wrapped up into someone. -When Will has his threesome with the future Anakin Skywalker and his Disney Channel Original Movie boyfriend. -When Will and Tony have some sexytimes. God, this song was everywhere back in early '01. There was even a running gag about that song in this 2001 movie called Orange County. -When Will and Tony declare their love for one another. I remember Tim kind of bitched about the fact that I didn't use opera music the last time we were in Italy, so I thought I'd change that. You're welcome, Tim.
centexhairysub Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 All great choices, especially the Andrea Bocelli, he has such a magnificient voice...
B1ue Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 (edited) You used a song about an evil tyrant threatening to put an entire city to death so she could get out of a marriage at the romantic climax of this chapter? Edited April 25, 2013 by B1ue
methodwriter85 Posted April 25, 2013 Author Posted April 25, 2013 You used a song about an evil tyrant threatening to put an entire city to death so she could get out of a marriage at the romantic climax of this chapter? *shrugs* It was the . That's where I got it from. *sigh* Matthew Goode is sooooo hot.
methodwriter85 Posted April 29, 2013 Author Posted April 29, 2013 Chapter 5 -When Will and Tony try and lay out what this whole declaration of love deal means. -When Will and Tony have their post-coital love talk. 1
Mark Arbour Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Chapter 5 -When Will and Tony try and lay out what this whole declaration of love deal means. -When Will and Tony have their post-coital love talk. The Dido song. I forgot all about that!
centexhairysub Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 Great choices, the " Hanging by a Moment " was such a perfect fit for that moment...
methodwriter85 Posted April 30, 2013 Author Posted April 30, 2013 2001 was when I really started following music, as a by-product of starting high school and hearing what other people were raving about, so it's easier doing music for this year than 2000 was, which was kind of a weird transition year.
methodwriter85 Posted May 2, 2013 Author Posted May 2, 2013 Chapter 6 -When Hank and Will navigate through New York City, and Will takes in the sights of the Big Apple. -When Hank takes Will to New Jersey, and Will witnesses the nice family bit that they've created with Maddy. -When Hank and Jeanine decide to take the condo in TriBeCa, the trendiest neighborhood in New York City. 1
B1ue Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Chapter 6 -When Hank and Jeanine decide to take the condo in TriBeCa, the trendiest neighborhood in New York City. Nice choice. Fits the theme of Jeanine and Hank's new life well.

Nice choice. Fits the theme of Jeanine and Hank's new life well. I totally agree. And I think the fact that "Downtown" is an oldie is even more appropriate. I'll bet Hank loves songs like that.
methodwriter85 Posted May 3, 2013 Author Posted May 3, 2013 Thanks. I kind of went for a "female" theme in this chapter, with Le Tigre and the Indigo Girls being lesbian bands. I'll always associate "Downtown" with Girl Interrupted, one of my favorite movies from the turn-of-the-millenium.
centexhairysub Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 God, I loved all the music of the 60's and early 70's... The Petual Clark song was just a perfect fit.... 1
methodwriter85 Posted May 7, 2013 Author Posted May 7, 2013 Chapter 7 -When Will tells Stefan about his romantic weekend with Tony, and the two analyze what this all means. -When Will realizes that Erik and Carter are still invited to Bastille's Day, and his friend is not, and slams the family for their snobbery and materialism. -When Will and JJ discuss at the end how horribly bitchy Marie's been. "Jaded" by Aerosmith
