Site Administrator wildone Posted February 3, 2014 Site Administrator Posted February 3, 2014 In a way it is good that amateur athletes are doing this now. After all, today's amateur athletes are tomorrow's professional. I still don't have a clue how long until a major professional athlete comes out. I know the leagues are trying to make a more hospitable place for all athletes, just nobody really knows if that is reflected in the locker rooms.
Marzipan Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 This got got quite a lot media coverage, mostly positive comments. Actually I have not read anything negative or degrading through from the papers. I hope it is not all just being politically correct when news give praises and support to A-P Liukkonen. I wish the best for Liukkonen. He did a good thing for future athletes.
methodwriter85 Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 He's also not the first Olympic swimmer to come out. Matthew Mitcham has been out for a long time.
