Site Moderator Reader1810 Posted May 24, 2016 Site Moderator Posted May 24, 2016 Addicted to Random Acts of Kindness Wonderful story and I especially like the "flow-on effects" of this one gesture. That this lifted the spirits of so many is phenomenal.
Site Moderator Reader1810 Posted May 25, 2016 Site Moderator Posted May 25, 2016 Not really good "news" but it is lighthearted and cute. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3609011/The-squirrels-love-horsing-Cheeky-rodents-love-playing-toy-animals.html 1

sandrewn Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 I like to think that most people are kind and caring by nature. It is good to see proof of this every so often. http://animalmozo.com/2015/11/24/27-animals-that-people-did-amazing-things-for-17-made-me-lose-it-2/ http://cottagelife.com/news/adorable-newborn-beavers-given-second-chance-thanks-to-saskatchewan-wildlife-centre Sandrewn 2
Site Moderator Reader1810 Posted May 28, 2016 Site Moderator Posted May 28, 2016 The importance of kindness.... It's hard to believe it's been nine years, I remember when this story first aired. http://www.cnn.com/2016/05/27/health/youssif-burn-recovery-2016/index.html 2
Site Administrator Valkyrie Posted May 29, 2016 Site Administrator Posted May 29, 2016 (edited) Stroke survivor Adrian Eagleton can't speak -- but wait until you hear him sing Unchained Melody Speech and singing are processed in different parts of the brain, so people with severe aphasia that can't speak--or can only speak a few words--are able to sing fluently. The guy in the video reminds me of a former patient of mine that had severe aphasia and apraxia (difficulty with motor planning-so he know what to say, but can't physically say it) of speech. He couldn't say any words volitionally, but could swear just fine. lol He could also sing "happy birthday" perfectly fluently. Thank you for sharing this. It brought tears to my eyes. I am going to share with my speech therapist colleagues. Edited May 29, 2016 by Valkyrie 4

sandrewn Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 I suppose this is one of those do you consider it, half full or half empty situations. I myself almost always choose the half full point of view. Though I think in this case with the added feature of, its the thought that counts (minus the cash, transit pass and wallet). A bit of both maybe? http://ftw.usatoday.com/2016/02/a-new-yorker-lost-his-wallet-and-got-the-most-new-york-note-imaginable Sandrewn 2

sandrewn Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 A high speed head on, often ends as a statistic. Score this, as one for the 'Good News Thread'.
