W_L Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Matt are you trying to usurp my throne as reigning NHL champ Should I defend my title
TetRefine Posted April 18, 2014 Author Posted April 18, 2014 What are the ground rules for us newbies? Just submit your picks for each series and each round by Sunday. Matt are you trying to usurp my throne as reigning NHL champ Should I defend my title I was back to back champ in 2010-2011, so I'm going for regaining my throne.
Ashi Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 I have no idea how this works, but I'll pick San Jose Sharks anyways... (not really a sport person). I like San Jose, and my ex is a rabid Sharks fan, so I have no other choice other than GO SHARKS! *makes awkward hand gesture* Los Angles Kings. Pfff.... How could you pick them over Sharks?!? I thought you had my respect.

Krista Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 I'll have a talk with Steven (Wildone) and then I can make my picks err...
Thorn Wilde Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 I'll have a look see which teams have the most Finns in them and bet accordingly.
Mark Arbour Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 San Jose tends to have really good regular season runs, and suddenly come playoff time they become huge choke-artists. Just like the Blues. 2
Mark Arbour Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Eastern Conference Quarterfinal Winners Boston, Pittsburgh, Montreal, Philadelphia Western Conference Quarterfinal Winners Anaheim, Colorado, San Jose, St. Louis Eastern Conference Semifinal Winners Boston, Montreal Western Conference Semifinal Winners Anaheim, St. Louis Stanley Cup Boston, St. Louis Stanley Cup Champions St. Louis I'm going with wishful thinking choices. 1
Andy78 Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 I'm in - let's see if the Brit who knows nothing at all about the sport and has never even seen a game can pull off a miracle. Eastern Conference Quarterfinal Winners Boston, Columbus, Tampa Bay, Philadelphia Western Conference Quarterfinal Winners Anaheim, Minnesota, St. Louis, San Jose Eastern Conference Semifinal Winners Boston, Philadelphia Western Conference Semifinal Winners San Jose, St. Louis Stanley Cup Philadelphia, St Louis Stanley Cup Champions Philadelphia Go Flyers!
TetRefine Posted April 19, 2014 Author Posted April 19, 2014 I'll have a look see which teams have the most Finns in them and bet accordingly. Tuukka Rask, the goalie for Boston, is a Finn.
Kitt Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Ok, I haven't paid all that much attention this year - but since all I have to lose is bragging rights I'll give it a shot Eastern Conference Detroit, Pittsburg, Montreal, NY Western Conference Anaheim, Colorado, LA, Chicago (Sorry Mark) Eastern Semifinals Detroit, NY Western Semifinals Colorado, Chicago Stanley Cup NY, Colorado Champions NY Rangers 1
Slytherin Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 (edited) Eastern Conference Quarterfinal Winners Boston, Pittsburgh, Montreal, New York Western Conference Quarterfinal Winners Anaheim, Colorado, San José, St Louis Eastern Conference Semifinal Winners Boston, New York Western Conference Semifinal Winners Colorado, San José Stanley Cup New York, Colorado Stanley Cup Champions New York Rangers maybe an admin or a mod can move this topic to the sports bar Edited April 19, 2014 by slytherin
Johnathan Colourfield Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Let's go for St. Louis Blues xD lets see if i do okay xD 1
Ashi Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 (edited) Eastern Conference Quarterfinal Winners Boston, Pittsburgh, Montreal, Philadelphia Western Conference Quarterfinal Winners Anaheim, Colorado, San Jose, St. Louis Eastern Conference Semifinal Winners Boston, Montreal Western Conference Semifinal Winners San Jose, Anaheim Stanley Cup Boston, San Jose Stanley Cup Champions San Jose Knowing we've never won Stanley Cup (even a non-sportsman like me would know if we won, as the downtown probably would roar and flip. San Francisco was so cheery when Giants won World Series), the chance is small (but there), but hey..., if we won, I'd buy you a drink. Sharks are pretty high ranking in NHL (higher rank than LA Kings, though we've lost to them before..., though I dare you to come and say good things about LA Kings in Shark Territory. ). I'll have a look see which teams have the most Finns in them and bet accordingly. Our team's goalie is a Finn: Antti Niemi from Vantaa Finland. Come Thorn, join San Jose in the sunny California and ditch the dark side that is Boston. Though I like our old logo better, but here: GO SHARKS! EDIT: Can't believe I was actually checking scores. But it seems Detroit destroyed you guys yesterday. Man, your pee wee is mine this year. Edited April 20, 2014 by Ashi
W_L Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 Alright, I will go for an upset this season against my own team: Eastern Conference Quarterfinal WinnersDetroit, Columbus, Tampa, New York Western Conference Quarterfinal WinnersAnaheim, Colorado, San Jose, St. Louis Eastern Conference Semifinal WinnersDetroit, New York Western Conference Semifinal WinnersColorado, Anaheim Stanley Cup New York, Colorado Stanley Cup ChampionsColorado

W_L Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 (edited) A lot of homer picks this year. I wanted to go B's, but everyone is picking it, so I want to beat expectations by going against the grain Well, I have to change it up and I want to see some upsets this year. If I am right, half the pool will be dead by the end of the 1st round Edited April 20, 2014 by W_L
W_L Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Darn, well, I guess I won't win the throne again, no upsets this year. Oh well, Go B's
