Site Administrator Myr Posted October 30, 2017 Site Administrator Posted October 30, 2017 Okay. @A.J. has had some success hunting down some of the issues and patching them onto GA while we wait for an official update. Please take a moment and test the advanced search function for us. Go here: https://www.gayauthors.org/stories/browse/date/ Then click on Sort by. Then select Custom. I'm testing: Fantasy, More than 20,000 words and complete: I get 11 pages of results that seem to fit properly: Please try other combinations and see if you get what you're looking for. 1 item, 2, 3, 4, 5... Let us know if some combination is not working. Thanks!
Brayon Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 I can confirm your search yielded 11 pages. I tried: Fiction, SciFi, Complete, and Mature, and got 6 pages and then 8 pages. 1
Timothy M. Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 I searched by tag were-creatures and status Complete. That yielded 5 pages. When I tried to sort them by Most Viewed, that didn't work. I searched by genre Fantasy, status Complete and rating Mature. That yielded 16 pages which supposedly were sorted by Newest story, but this wasn't the case. It would be great if the tags could be listed in alphabetical order and not by tag group. 1

I can confirm if you don't do that, it doesn't work because the custom sort settings override the sort/filter settings. We're working on a software change for this but the programmer is being obnoxiously slow. 6 hours ago, Timothy M. said: I searched by genre Fantasy, status Complete and rating Mature. This also works when you use the custom sort only. 6 hours ago, Timothy M. said: It would be great if the tags could be listed in alphabetical order and not by tag group. That is a good suggestion and I'll look into it. 1 1

I did, or in other words I left the default choice of Sort Direction as Descending (newest first). However, the list which came out was NOT in descending order. But it's not such a big issue, so don't spend time fiddling with it. 1

And the programmer will put it into the base code in the next update. 2

Awesome with the tag sort, thank you @A.J. and Myr. 2

I went back, and tested this. I goofed. I get 6 pages of results the way I searched listed above, but if I leave off Category: Fiction, it turns to 8 pages. Sorry, my bad. 1
Brayon Posted March 16, 2018 Posted March 16, 2018 It may have been a fluke, but I tried using this today. Used it 10 times looking for specific content, and 4 of those searches, the system did not change from the default. All six other times, the system returned what I was looking for. Searched for: Fiction, Fantasy/SciFI, Complete, Mature.
