I didn't feel the need for a movie to wrap up the series, I felt like everything that happened in the last season wrapped up the story satisfactorily  

I have no doubt it's an excellent movie.  But if it ends the way I think it does, or implies or whatever, and that ending isn't "And so Uhtred returned to his ancestral lands, where he formed Untred family 3.0 and lived there till the end of his days" I won't like it.  I felt like poor guy had been through enough.  He'd given more than enough to the ungrateful kingdom of Wessex, and all of Alfred's family.

All I can say is I wasn't disappointed. You might find what you're looking for if you watch it, and it stays true to the series.
