Our language is a hodgepodge of old Germain, Latin, and French. Add in large populations of multiple cultures and languages world wide, and you have American English. Don't look down on us. 2 5

I don't get the "joke", if there's even one 🤷🏻♀️ And actually it's written with a "œ" Wanna know something else when it's plural it's pronounced very different yet written the same: 1 œuf => 1 [euf] Multiples œufs => we pronounced the S at the end of the article making it sounds like [zeuf] but we don't pronounced the plural mark of the S at the end We also have something similar to you feet/foot about the eye/eyes but that's another story 6
Headstall Posted July 20 Posted July 20 2 hours ago, Albert1434 said: Albert had always been known for his hospitality, and this time he decided to host a grand dinner party for his friends. The guest list included Gary Headstall and his crew—Clo, Ravan, Drew, and Spike—as well as his old friends Bucket and Craig. The evening promised to be filled with laughter, stories, and delicious food. The Menu Albert had planned! Appetizers: Stuffed Mushrooms: Juicy mushrooms filled with a savory mixture of breadcrumbs, garlic, and herbs, baked to perfection. Bruschetta: Crisp slices of baguette topped with a fresh tomato, basil, and mozzarella mixture, drizzled with balsamic glaze. Main Courses: Roast Beef: Tender, juicy roast beef cooked to a perfect medium-rare, served with a rich red wine jus. Herb-Roasted Chicken: Succulent chicken pieces marinated in a blend of herbs and spices, roasted until golden brown and crispy. Vegetarian Lasagna: Layers of pasta, ricotta cheese, spinach, and marinara sauce, baked until bubbly and golden. Side Dishes: Garlic Mashed Potatoes: Creamy mashed potatoes infused with roasted garlic and a hint of butter. Roasted Vegetables: A medley of seasonal vegetables, including carrots, bell peppers, and zucchini, roasted with olive oil and herbs. Caesar Salad: Crisp romaine lettuce tossed with Caesar dressing, croutons, and freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Desserts: Chocolate Fondue: A decadent chocolate fondue served with an assortment of fruits, marshmallows, and pound cake for dipping. Tiramisu: A classic Italian dessert with layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers, mascarpone cheese, and cocoa powder. Fruit Tart: A buttery tart crust filled with creamy custard and topped with an array of fresh, colorful fruits. Beverages: Wine Selection: A carefully curated selection of red and white wines to complement the meal. Coffee and Tea: Freshly brewed coffee and a variety of teas served with dessert. After-Dinner Liqueurs: A selection of liqueurs, including Amaretto and Bailey’s, to enjoy by the cozy fireplace. Albert’s meticulous attention to detail ensured that every dish was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, making the dinner party a truly memorable experience for all his guests. Albert’s home was a charming old house with a spacious dining room that could comfortably accommodate all his guests. He spent the entire day preparing for the event, ensuring every detail was perfect. The table was set with fine China, crystal glasses, and a beautiful centerpiece of fresh flowers. The aroma of roasted meats, freshly baked bread, and a variety of side dishes filled the air, making everyone’s mouth water in anticipation. As the sun began to set, the guests started to arrive. Gary was the first to walk through the door, his usual confident stride accompanied by a warm smile. He was followed closely by Clo, whose sharp wit and infectious laughter always brought a lively energy to any gathering. Ravan, with his quiet demeanor and thoughtful insights, entered next, nodding politely to everyone. Drew and Spike, the inseparable duo, arrived together, their playful banter already in full swing. Bucket and Craig were the last to arrive, each carrying a bottle of wine as a token of appreciation for Albert’s hospitality. Bucket, with his booming voice and larger-than-life personality, immediately filled the room with his presence. Craig, ever the gentleman, greeted everyone with a firm handshake and a kind word. Once everyone was settled, Albert raised his glass to make a toast. “To friendship,” he began, his voice filled with emotion. “May we always find time to gather, to share stories, and to enjoy each other’s company. Cheers!” “Cheers!” echoed around the table as glasses clinked together. The dinner was a feast for the senses. Albert had outdone himself with a menu that included succulent roast beef, tender chicken, a variety of vegetables, and an assortment of desserts that left everyone in awe. As they ate, the conversation flowed effortlessly. Gary regaled the group with tales of their latest adventures, each story more thrilling than the last. Clo’s quick wit kept everyone laughing, while Ravan’s thoughtful comments added depth to the discussions. Drew and Spike entertained the group with their playful antics, often finishing each other’s sentences in a way that only loyal friends could. Bucket shared stories from his travels, his animated storytelling style captivating everyone. Craig, always the voice of reason, offered insightful observations that sparked lively debates. As the evening wore on, the group moved to the living room, where a cozy fire crackled in the fireplace. Albert brought out a tray of coffee and tea, along with a selection of after-dinner liqueurs. The conversation turned more reflective as they reminisced about old times and shared their hopes for the future. Gary leaned back in his chair, a contented smile on his face. “You know, Albert, this has been one of the best evenings I’ve had in a long time. Thank you for bringing us all together.” Albert smiled warmly. “It’s my pleasure, Gary. There’s nothing more important than spending time with good friends.” As the night drew to a close, the guests began to say their goodbyes. Each one thanked Albert for his incredible hospitality and promised to return the favor soon. As the last guest left, Albert stood in the doorway, watching the taillights disappear into the night. He felt a deep sense of satisfaction, knowing that he had created a memorable evening for his friends. Aww... that was touching and memorable, buddy. Thank you. 1 3
