Now I need to go and upload the next DDD chapter before going back to bed. Not feeling well at all. :(

LOL, that was fast @Valkyrie - did you even check whether we dealt with your edits and great suggestions before you hit the Like button ?

Feel better, Tim.

I was worried that I was going to miss it as well, as a stupid argument with my lift to a meeting last night left me stranded 60 miles from home...

Fortunately I had my smartphone with me, so was able to log in just before page 556 started. :)

Safely back home now so can use my laptop again.

Lifts are controlled by ghosts. -_-

G'day y'all. Frosty start to the morning, sub-freezing temp but it's sunny.

I'm worn out by this bluefish cold. :(  I have to go out to the barn before bedtime to pour hot water in my mare's bucket, so she has liquid water while she munches on her hay. Morning, dugh, Mum, and Thistle.

LOL... my bad... sorry... I thought you were talking about an elevator. I have a friend who avoids them... says there are ghosts that live in them... she's serious... :)

I guessed you'd misinterpreted the word 'lift' !

No worries. I got trapped in an elevator (lift) back in the 1960's for a few hours. I decided that I had to just treat the experience similar to the recommended treatment for falling off a horse. (probably saved myself thousands in therapy fees that way!)

No power in the barn?  I would have a heated water bucket, even if I had to run power just for that.  They don't draw that much and I have never heard of an instance of fire caused by one. Wires are armored too to prevent a silly horse from playing with it and zapping themselves.

My students are given a choice. Back on or to a doctor. If it aint bad enough for a doc, you get back on even if all you do is walk around.

It's not a big deal, I guess, but yeah, one day I'll probably pick one up. It gives me another reason to go see her. :)  Morning, Kitt.

She probably thinks the bucket of hot water from the house is a treat anyway.

I was reading some Reddit stories on YouTube. An Entitled Daughter refused to care for her own horse, so another student (the original poster) had to put the saddle and bridle on it. ED also showed up for lessons wearing the white pants reserved for "formal" events, and then used a whip inappropriately (at her mother's instructions), causing the horse to bolt, and ED fell off. There's more to the story, but I don't care to repeat it here.

Thinking about that story makes me angry. I grew up in a rural area, so a few of my neighbors had horses. They're not toys to be played around with. They're wonderful, beautiful animals with thoughts and feelings like any other creature.
