It was... I don't think just saying great would do it justice. A lot of emotions reading it. 

I, as a younger, didn't know that period, what you has to go through and I think most youngers have no ideas things like that were real and people's reality just a few years ago and it's kind of hard to imagine such a time as now it's just normal. It breaks my heart knowing you and so many other had to suffer, to hide and so much more, how many were broken.

I read just this morning a press article saying 1/3 of French people still have problems with gay people showing affection in public! People are okay with it as long as they don't have to "deal with it" in their faces. It makes me so sad and angry. Who cared! And I'd much rather see a gay couple holding hands or kidding than a straight couple trying to swallow each other tongue.

Also part of today fight is against a certain level of homophobia still present witj people showing it unconsciously like when they talk, I'm thinking of my mom for example who would say oh I'm sure he's a "pédé" meaning queer. Sure she doesn't mean it in a bad way (she'd love for me to be a lesbian having a great social and sex life instead of spending my evenings alone drinking herbal tea with my cat and crochet) but even if the word queer is use in the community it's still have a bad "taste". So I'm always telling her "gay not queer" and she says but it's the same thing. Or when people see a gay couple and can't help to be surprise, pointing, staring like this couple is some kind of curiosity. It's just two people, nothing to look at, move away! 

Ugh sorry for the rant, it's just imagining such a time is I'm just glad you came out of it and are here with us

You're a beautiful person, Clo, and you get it. It's so empowering for an old guy like me to hear from a young person who is as enlightened and truly kind as you. I'm glad I'm here with you all too.
