C James Posted January 30, 2007 Author Posted January 30, 2007 So I wonder how many you have recieved already??? Six so far.
SonoLuminus Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 So, do we have to submit them *by* Feb. 1st, or is Feb. 1 the last day we can still get them in?
colinian Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Just a reminder that the submission deadline is Feb 1st... I've started one, and if I don't get too much homework tomorrow I'll be able to finish it and submit it. If you don't get it, then I had a bunch of assignments dumped on me. Colin
C James Posted January 31, 2007 Author Posted January 31, 2007 So, do we have to submit them *by* Feb. 1st, or is Feb. 1 the last day we can still get them in? Midnight, Feb 1st, (US Eastern time) is the actual deadline, but as I won't be checking my mailbox for the last enties until the second, well, I won't bounce anyone over a day.
Bondwriter Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 I can't believe I got done in time! I suffer from the syndrome Luc talks about in his blog, (the assignment problem), but thanks to the two great guys who edited my story, I was motivated enough to turn it in early...
Bardeara Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Six so far. Only six? I have to admit, I'm kind of surpized by that. Hope we have some last min entries, like I'm normally doing.
Site Administrator Graeme Posted February 1, 2007 Site Administrator Posted February 1, 2007 Only six? I have to admit, I'm kind of surpized by that. Hope we have some last min entries, like I'm normally doing. I'm not that surprised. I suspect a lot of people found the genre challenging. I'll admit that my submission doesn't quite meet the guidelines (fairy tale/folk tale retold), though it is in the spirit of the anthology intention.
Camy Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 I might still get in under the wire, though my entry will not be 'Kittified', which I'm rather dubious about. Still, if there are a few too many adverbs, or a run on sentence (or twenty), I'll have no one to blame except myself. Camy
SonoLuminus Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 Well, I had what I thought was a semi-decent idea, but I never got around to actually writing it down. Maybe next time.
Site Administrator Graeme Posted February 2, 2007 Site Administrator Posted February 2, 2007 Well, I had what I thought was a semi-decent idea, but I never got around to actually writing it down. Maybe next time. That's what happened to me for the Winter anthology. I'm trying to make sure it doesn't happen again for the Spring anthology....
Mikie Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 I'm not that surprised. I suspect a lot of people found the genre challenging. I'll admit that my submission doesn't quite meet the guidelines (fairy tale/folk tale retold), though it is in the spirit of the anthology intention. Though Gregory MaGuire never seemed to have a problem with the genre. hehehe. I was thinking about writing something, but I couldn't really think of which fairy tale to retell... I mean sure I could've retold Cinderella to a gay theme, but I doubt I could retell it and spin it like MaGuire can hehee. (Yes I am in love with his writing so sue me )
