I have to say I agree, that seems to be something like you would get from a book on cd/tape. I like silence when I read, the quieter the better, I think music emanating from the story or sound effects would just be jarring.

I loved Max and Josh before I ever met Owl in chat, then got hooked on Lover's Blind. I envy writers who can do more than one project at a time. But now that I know he has another one I want to read it, typical meanie, building up the hype before delivering the goods, lol!

Oh no Owl, I would never shoot you. I too like them, they have this devious quality to them, and the Shilan seems to be slightly mad...perfect reflections of my mind at times, lol...Makes sense since they are coming out of it They are bad enough but are just setting things in motion though...just wait, all I can say is poor Bel'loc and Cale, they are in for the trial of their lives. Thank you for the compliments, I really appreciate you taking the time to talk about my story and to encourage me. I started writing really wondering if anyone would be interested or if it was any good. As long as a few readers seem to enjoy it, I will keep writing until the end.

I think that Lian is addicted to death, honestly. The rush that people can get when they have "power" over life and death. I think that is something that doctors feel in some measure, at least when they are able to save people. Probably what keeps them slogging in a very high stress job day after day. I agree with Nephy on her definition on revenge vs. retribution. I think that revenge is often used by a party that believes they are wronged...case in point, when Adam kidnaps Kane and has Nye torture and top him. That can only be viewed as revenge imo, against Kane for trying to take Nye away, and against Nye for having loved Kane, in any way, shape or form. Knowing that would drive a personality like Adam's crazy and most likely allow him to think this is the best way to "pay" them back. Retribution on the other hand, that is justice for wrongs that are so heinous that action cannot be denied, they must be stopped. Again, in any way, shape or form. I think that most acts of retribution fit the crime, but don't stoop to the same level, if that makes any sense. I could not see Kane kidnapping or using Adam for payback for what was done to him, I do see him kicking the shit out of him and putting him out of the "business" however. That is the difference in my mind.

I just loved the last few chapters. The fact that Nye has now faced the truth of his "relationship" with Adam is wonderful, though poor Kane. I think that finding that he has Nye's love back again, that they will be together is going to set a fire under him the likes that Adam has never seen. Retribution is coming I hope, not just revenge!

Those tales of abuse are horrible, it's never fair when children are abused. Not all abused children go on to allow their children to be in those situations, some, although it is on the minority side, take those incidents to heart and protect their children, at least as much as they are able to in this day and age. Another form of abuse that scars for life is emotional abuse, I didn't really see you mention that one. It often goes hand in hand with the other types but really is a separate issue all by itself. It can often have just as lasting of an affect as the other types of abuse that are more tangible.

Chapter 8 is up and I have already started Ch. 9...idk why but this story is being very bossy right now, lol. Big things coming in Ch. 9, so hopefully it won't be too long before the story unfolds... My link-Ch. 8

I'm sorry, having read many many stories online, you want to know the one that drives me the most crazy? Shutter for shudder. I mean c'mon, just say it outloud...it shouldn't even sound the same unless you can't speak properly...drives me up the wall!

Biggest fear ever since so many of my family members have had cancer and I have high indicators for it. So...I'd be making memories for my kids, because the thought of them going on without me there for all the milestones, first boyfriend/girlfriend, broken heart, driving lesson, graduation, moving away from home, weddings and my grandkids to come...missing those is just terrifying for me. So, I think I would be creating mementos and books and letters and videos and pictures and whatever else I could do to make my children feel as if I was still there as much as I can be. My hubby...him I would hug and love as much as I could so that he would be just full of the feeling, to last as long as he lived, and could share it with the kids as they grew. idk about traveling and doing things for me...seems like as long as I could be with my family, that's all I'd need.

I was unfortunate enough to start doing hard drugs like speed and meth at 12, after a year of drinking and pot with people much older than myself. I had a full time job when I was 15, which provided lots of funds to buy drugs so I had a lot of "friends". Of course a lot of them were in and out of jail over the years that followed, but it never scared me clean until I had a weekend binge fest of all of the above and no food. I passed out for almost 2 days after that. It was scary. Soon enough, I found that the person I wanted to be and the man I wanted to be with didn't fit well with drug addiction and managed to kick my habits when I was 16, but the withdrawls were horrid and intense on top of everything else going on physically for kids at that age. I feel for you Tiger, sharing a story like that takes great courage and if it keeps just one person from thinking that doing drugs is okay, I'll only try it one time, it can't be that addicting, it's worth it! Hugs.
