  1. Care to elaborate on King Hussein? That IS unusual, though he was a great political figure.
  2. Happy birthday, Dargon !
  3. Bleu

    He's MINE!

Right now I just want to click on a Like button. No need for words, really...
  4. This thread had pretty much died by the time I discovered GA. Do crushes not happen during Spring and Summer time? If I do a little introspection, I can see 3 crushes over my 5 months here. And no, you're not getting any names.
  5. Happy birthday, Ken!
  6. I'm up for the pushups and situps challenge, since I can't do any running for the next 3 months. I was able to maintain my weight down while I was in a cast, so at least I didn't lose all the good work done in the Spring.
  7. You guys pick a date. I can take a few days off work to make it to Manchester or London. Feb. 4-6 sounds fine with me.
  8. Awww, thanks guys, you saved me! I was going to drown in my own bath tub! /drama queen Anyway, I still find this video amazing, even knowing some secrets about how it was made. Thanks, Chase, for sharing this.
  9. Happy birthday, Cia
  10. What can you possibly mean by no WOW factor? Is this something you commonly do in your swimming pool maybe? The video may be an artistic project but they still shot some amazing pictures. And then the editing makes it look utterly amazing. Oh, and I don't see why telling the truth earned me a -1 rep. I'll go pout underwater in my bath tub.
  11. The video is described as follows on his blog (http://guillaumenery.over-blog.com/ ) : This video is a FICTION and an ARTISTIC PROJECT, I don't claim to have reached the bottom of the hole (202m) without rope and fins, as the world record in no-fins discipline is 95m. We made this movie to show another approach in freediving videos. We wanted to express the strenght of the elements water-earth-air and the sensations of freedom, harmony, exploration. All the shots were made on breath hold by Julie Gautier. We directed and edited the movie ourself, Julie and me. Jerome Espla (Poisson Lune Productions) was the gradder of the clip (color corrections...). The music is from ARCHIVE - you make me feel. The camera is a Canon 5D mark II Still... the WOW factor is definitely there!
  12. Sam, Yo Yo Ma is great indeed, but what a contrast with my own suggestions! If YoYo Ma it is, then let's have him play Bach's cello Suite #1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZn_VBgkPNY
  13. How about a January or February meet to prepare a more ambitious meet-up in August?
  14. I was wondering whether any of you had ever heard of alternative rock band Empyr. They're French but sing in English. Their first album was produced in L.A. and they're due to release their second album next month. Here is one song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dP98ACeWgFc Two of the band members previously belonged to Kyo, which was pretty popular over here in 2003/2004. I'm sure I've already written about them on GA. Anyway, check them out too This one is about school bullying.
  15. What an amazing person!! I'm speechless.
  16. Happy non-birthday, Rob!! Edited to take into account the revelation that this is not actually your birthday
  17. Happy birthday, Mike!! :king:
  18. See... I knew it was the beard! I must admit that I don't know his music well. He just comes out as exceptionally arrogant in interviews. Charlotte Gainsbourg is exceptional. Edith Piaf was as well, but she died more than 45 years ago: it really is time to move on. I have Carla Bruni's first album, which is excellent. She is a true musician. Don't like her much as first lady. No, scratch that. I just don't like her hubby.
  19. Sebastien Tellier . I know you have a thing for facial hair, but geeez! So not sexy!! His music is Ok, but we have much better singers even if they don't have an international career. Try M (Mathieu Chedid) for example Oh, and look he even sings with Sean Lennon, and they kiss at the end!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOa64VrGZO4&feature=related

    Dirty poll #7

I note that you didn't give an option for us boring people with no fetishes whatsoever. Some of those I've heard of, but Diapers??? Puke play!!! ...and that's not a judgment placed upon those of you who actually get turned on by this... only surprise.
  21. I agree with Tipdin, the book is excellent. I read it about 10 years ago but it's stayed with me ever since. The tale is epic. I hope the transfer to the screen gives it justice.
  22. Yes, I can only agree that it is beautiful, Mark. I live pretty close to Versailles and go to the Parc at least once a month. I even have a pass so I don't have to pay extra when the Grandes Eaux are on (which is the only time when you have to pay to visit the gardens). Did you get to visit other chateaux in the area (Fontainebleau, Vaux-le-Vicomte, Chantilly...)?
  23. I agree whole-heartedly with the others. This beginning is excellent ; I was sucked in after just two paragraphs. Please give us the whole story
  24. Happy birthday, Steve !! Enjoy the day :king:
  25. JC, I'm sure we can find ways to accomodate everyone. I enjoy drinking a little bit but not to the point of being wasted. I'd rather be sharing time and chatting with others as well... I have a feeling it will all fit into place in the coming months.
