  1. Happy birthday, Andy
  2. Hey Marky, there are quite a number of Filipinos on GA. Some mention it on their public profile, others only mention it in chat, and therefore I won't name them specifically but I'm sure you'll get to meet them as time passes and this thread might attract them too
  3. Happy birthday, Frosti

    Chapter 5

I like how your story is picking up pace. There are already several conflicting interests and emotions which are going to make for an interesting read. Both Thomas and Alex are very likeable characters so far. Thanks
  5. Great story, Mark! Sweet, loving, and funny. I'm glad those fays and fairies have a good human who takes care of his kingdom so well.

    Self-sufficiency

You are amazing for doing all this and for keeping this lifestyle.
  7. I had snails yesterday...because I was with an Australian friend who was here on a visit. I seriously believe that more snails are eaten here by tourists than by the French.
  8. Don't worry, MikeL, Andy has the words wrong, so no frogs for him! Besides, I'll make sure we go to acceptable and reputable places Kidding aside, you find snails easily in Paris restaurants, but I've only seen frogs on the menu in specific countryside restaurants (but I think I've had this conversation with Andy in chat already )
  9. Sounds like a plan! I'm in, as you know And thanks for taking the lead in this, John.
  10. What date would suit you better? Or are you generally undecided?
  11. September 7-9 works for me as well.
  12. Thanks for sharing, it was very moving indeed. Religion has little influence over society where I live, but the lesson on how we see other people and how we consciously or unconsciously pass judgement holds truth in every country.
  13. Andy, the silver chrome carriages are still there, though I would advise a faster modern train. A 2-day pass would be useful for everyone ; public transport are very convenient here.
  14. Dates should be fine for me/us And the Louvre, Orsay and Versailles are free for John and I as well so all those options are good.
  15. As the previous messages show, we won't be short of options as long as the weather is nice. Le Louvre is for art from the Antiquity until about 1860, and the Musée d'Orsay for the 1860-1920 period. They both have paintings and sculptures. The Tuileries gardens or the Palais Royal can be a good picnic ground if we are at the Louvre. And the Champs de Mars can be good if we go to the Musée d'Orsay. Luxembourg gardens as well if we are in the Latin Quarter. Versailles is obviously quite nice, but it's out of the way, so we would have to plan the day out. As for dates, I'll let you guys pick your favourites.
  16. Happy birthday, Westie Have a good time!
  17. Congratulations to the all the winners and nominees.
  18. Um.... well.... I have been to gay bars in Paris, but it was last century and these places are notoriously short-lived. I just need to do a little catching-up.
  19. Thanks for all this info, Bob. Although I know Paris, I never had to stay in a hotel there I'll be a bit more useful about restaurants, and much more useful about museums and bookstores And I will look up gay bars too
  20. Very interesting topic. I believe quite a few stories could be turned into movies (The Ordinary Us would indeed make a good one, but so would quite a few others, including Sci-fi and vampire stories). I agree with W_L: New Brother would have the potential to be a mainstream movie, likely to interest beyond the gay community, because there are all the elements of the gay coming of age story, but seen through the eyes of your average straight teenager.
  21. Well, my first impression is that two plans are better than one. I was expecting something much less promising from your post title. Not sure I have recommendations at this point, but I'll come back to you if I do.
  22. Thanks, H!
  23. Happy birthday Joey!! Enjoy the ride!
  24. Both funny and useful
