I can honestly say that I never know what I'll see when I look in the mirror. Oh, there's the obvious fact that I change my hair and clothes styles so much that it's easy to "forget" and be surprised. Beyond that though... Sometimes I stare into the mirror and notice all the things I want to change. The nose I wish were just a bit more narrow. The chin that I'd prefer if it didn't angle up quite as much. The two barely visible lines on my forehead that don't seem to go away. Other times I vainly ponder all the things I like. My eyes, with their dynamic, clear blue and the way I can use them so effectively to convey my feelings. The way my smile changes the whole shape of my face into something I quite like. The way I've used that smile to get me what I've needed, or wanted, or needed and wanted to give. I see the fruits of the labour I've spent on my face. The smooth, firm, skin that I spend so much time moisturizing, exfoliating, and protecting. The teeth I've spent so much money whitening and straightening. The brows and lashes I've so maticulously tweezed and waxed. Often, in more somber, darker moods I see just another silly, twinkie gay boy who's already desperate to stop the advancing years. I see an absent-minded, flighty young man who lacks the drive and focus to accomplish many of the things he wants the most. Other times, when my mood and day are brighter, I see someone strong and independent. Someone resourceful and adaptive. Someone who's careful not to hurt others and who often puts their best interest above his own. Someone postive and cheerful, with a witty, out-going personality. I see hope. Fear. Power. Weakness. Love. Lust. Pride. Humility. Determination. Flexibility. Mistakes. Accomplishments. But most of all...I see another chance. -Kevin

YAY! On the extra chapter! BOOO on the pink eye. I've never had it, it is supposedly really contagious though. The best way to avoid getting it is supposed to be to simply not touch your eyes (unless you've just washed your hands). Anyway I hope you don't have it and if you do I hope you recover quickly! Take care and have a great day Kevin

Hi all, This topic is actually very similar to First Crush which took place about a year and a half ago (of course that one talked about any first crush, not just celebrity). As I said in the topic I guess my first celeb. crush was when I was a kid and watching re-runs of the Partridge Family. I thought Danny was cute. -Kevin

Happy Birthday, Bev!! I hope it's fantastic -Kevin

OH my gosh! I knew your avatar looked vaguely familar, but I hadn't placed it as Kelsey Grammer until now! LOL, it's so cool and freaky now that I know! I LOVE QAF! I hadn't realized yours was from it though. Who is that kissing? Brian and Justin? I've always loved yours, Raz, because to me it looks so delightfully exuberant Same here. He made it with a blue background for me because that's my favourite colour (although I usually prefer a deeper colour, but that probably wouldn't have looked as good in the picture). Similarly the green in the eye patch and feather is one of my favourite colours. It's also sort of me in "pirate form", my eyes are blue, and my hair was is very often blonde (for the last year it's typically been red, but prior to that it had been pretty much exclusively shades of blonde for years). Have an awesome day all! Kevin

Hey Mark! I'm so glad you enjoyed reading it! I hope you do fill one out! I'd love to check out your answers, those things are so much fun to do and read! LOL, well let's just say I can do practically everything with my left hand that I can do with my right hand, but it takes me a little longer to do it. Thanks, my apartment is starting to look like it's been taken over by a tribe of angry boxes...so I take that to be a good sign Have an awesome day and take care! Kevin

Hey Viv I've yet to read "The Shower", but I agree that Luc is a very amazing and gifted writer! I'm definitely in the "too wrapped up in the story at the time to think about it" camp. However, I sometimes do ponder such things later as you suggested. Generally I assume the events are from imagination, but possibly/probably based on real events. When I (on the extremely rare occassion ) write anything, I find it most appealing to write feelings, events, emotions etc. that I've never experienced in that way, but of course everything a writer writes is going to contain some part of themselves. So I use that baised perspective when I evaluate "fact or fiction" in other writer's work. So if I read about a hot scene in the back of a car, I wouldn't necessarily assume that it happened to the author (though I would allow for that possibility), but instead just assume that the author has thought or fantasized about doing that, has seen/read/heard about events like that and been inspired, or that perhaps it did take place but in an altered form. Generally I guess I try to respect the author's "privacy" on this matter as well. So I'd never just become convinced that what I was reading happened, and thus start thinking about/treating the author accordingly, but at the same time I wouldn't be surprised if I found out it did happen. YAY! I can't wait Nifty phone! Mine recently died (geez I'm going through them like crazy this is about the 4th or 5th one in a year! ), but it's still under warrenty so they're just sending me a replacement. LOL, well personally I don't really like pizza. I'll have some like once or twice a year, BUT when I do and when I used to live in places where those were the only three options, I usually did opt for Papa John's. I didn't really like Pizza hut or Domino's (but then I don't really like pizza). I think the only time I've had pizza since moving to Houston (so for the last year), was about a month and a half ago when I was hanging out with a couple of friends and we were hungry, but had been drinking and couldn't drive ( ), so we ordered pizza. I can't remember where we got it from, but I think it was a local place. Awww, I'm so glad they had fun! awwww, lol! Well it certainly sounds like you handled it really well! It also sounds like the kids don't see it as a big deal, which IMO, is a good thing Just read that! Thanks for pointing me to it! It sounds like you guys had an awesome time! take care and have an awesome day! Kevin

Pirates, Two Moons, and an ungodly Crotch-grab
AFriendlyFace commented on shadowgod's blog entry in blogage
We have an Urban Out-fitters here in Houston, actually probably several. I've never purchased anything there, but some of their stuff is fun to try on and/or otherwise play with. As for Jamba Juice, I love that place! I'm glad you guys had so much fun Take care and have an awesome day! Kevin -
Well why not I suppose. Personally I hate taking pictures and would be quite unhappy if I thought they actually reflected the way I look to people. I'm going to maintain that the camera has a way of removing life from me and making me look like some sort of walking corpse. But I took these about 11 - 9 months ago and posted them in my blog, so I guess it can't hurt to repost them here. I actually prefer the way I look now. My hair (which I change like every three weeks anyway ) is most similar in style right now to the third picture, but probably a little shorter on the sides, and a bit longer on top/in the front. And right now it's sort of a dark strawberry blonde. To go with the look I of course have my eyebrows the same colour, and they're a bit thinner. I'm also have a slightly better (fake) tan now LOL, of course it would be easier to just take recent pictures than to sit here and try to explain the differences, but let's face it, I just abhor pictures and I'm not gonna I must say though you're all a bunch of very beautiful people! Take care all and have an awesome day! Kevin

She Sells Seashells

Hey Sharon! WOW! That sure sounds like a fun vacation! You know actually I'm inclined to agree with you about the beach thing! I like going too...but yeah I don't like actually being on the beach as much. For the most part I agree with you about the sand, except that SOMETIMES I do like to play in. I can't really swim in general, but while I do like to play in water, ocean water is really gross! Also, I'm chronically afraid of sun exposure; it's really bad for the skin and aging, and taking care of my skin and slowing aging are two of my favourite pastimes. Besides I get my vitamin D and my tan from bottles Anyway I'm really glad you went and had fun good luck with everything and I hope the house there works out! Kevin -
Oh my gosh that's so cool!! Do you get a discount?

Hey Raz!! An imaginary all expenses paid vacation of your destination! LOL, they may be straight, or maybe they're just really closeted (even to themselves?) I have Ohhh, I'd like to check that out, I like those three people! What's it about? Take care and have an awesome day!! Kevin

No, and I'd prefer to go to Europe and Asia first, but I'd like to go everywhere so Africa would be good. 10. Ever eaten cookies for dinner? Ranch 17. Favorite pie? Anything ultra rich and chocolately. 18. Favorite number? FOUR!!!!!!! FOUR!!!!! FOUR!!!!! FOUR!!!! 20. Favorite holiday? Christmas I suppose, but I have alota fun with Halloween. 21. Favorite dessert? Okay since you're trying to nail me down on "ultra rich and chocolately", I'll go with a chocolate fudge cake, with extra thick chocolate icing, a scope of ice cream, covered in chocolate syrup/hot fudge, LOTS of heavy whipped cream, nuts, and a cherry. Happy now?...I AM 22. Favorite food? Artichokes, Leeks, any kind of fresh veggie in general 23. Favorite day of the week? Lately? Thursday 24. Favorite brand of body soap? Well I don't really use "body soap", I have a bunch of different kinds of body washes, most of which purport to do something magical to the skin. I really like the way this one from "The Body Shop" makes me feel though. I can't remember the name though, but it's in a red bottle. 25. Favorite TV show? I don't watch TV, but I guess Queer as Folk, or Friends (I downloaded them) 26. Favorite Toothpaste? Moonlight Night, Vivid Night Whitening, by Crest. 27. Where do you see yourself in 10 years? I could literally be almost anywhere with almost anyone doing almost anything, and I'm pleased about that. 28. What do you do when you are bored? The only times I've been bored in the last several years have all been at work or school, I never get bored when I have time to myself. In those scenarios I usually just try to throw myself into whatever is going on. If nothing's going on and I can't chat with anyone, then I happily get lost in my head. ************************** So long little quiz thingy, but it was fun! In other news I'm getting ready to move and looking for a new job will be on very little for the next three weeks. Take care all and have an awesome day! Kevin

Hi all Yep, there was one notable study conducted in the 1970s in which researchers interviewed Seattle prostitutes, drug addicts, and institutionalized gay people and found instances of some guys reporting more than 3,000 sexual partners. 700 may indeed be some kind of "average" from that number, or simply some number that's been adjusted in an attempt to make it more believable and counter-balance the initial subject pool (which it obviously still doesn't do). In any case, chances are the research does indeed come from a sampling of prostitutes, drug addicts, or the mentally ill. OKAY, sorry but I personally think that math just doesn't hold up! The key term to remember here is different partners. IMO, that may indeed be a perfectly legitimate way to estimate Johnny Queer's number of sexual encounters (though it still seems high to me unless he's at least periodically in a relationship), but I find it highly unlikely that he would be able to find 260 different partners by the time he's 30 unless finding new sexual partners was one of his main focuses in life (in which case he obviously wouldn't represent the average, modern queer). First off, almost everyone who's "out" and "active" enough in the gay scene to be picking up that many partners is going to have at least a few relationships over that period of time. I know alot of gay people under 30 and the overwhelming majority have had at least one, "mostly monogamous" relationship (rather one or both parties ended up cheating, or even if it was an "open" relationship, it was at least monogamous to the point that the members wouldn't have been having sex with outside parties to the extent you described above). The few individuals in my age bracket that I do know of who haven't ever been involved in a gay relationship have all had comparatively very little gay sex/sexual encounters in general. So if Johnny Queer represents the average, modern day American queer, then he's not average unless he's involved in at least a couple of relationships by the time he's 30, and unless these relationships have at least briefly destracted him from his pursuit of anonymous sex. Now let's pretend that Johnny Queer really is avoiding all romantic relationships and instead just having casual sex. Even in that scenario it seems pretty likely that if Johnny wants to have that much sex he's going to have to have a couple of "FBs" or at least occasionally go home with the same person more than once, in which case he is of course not finding that many different partners. The inherent problem with all this reasoning is that Johnny Queer is constrained by the population in which he lives and the methods he chooses to find his tricks. Let's suppose he frequents gay clubs. I can tell you first hand that it's generally the same crowd the frequents the same clubs. Not completely of course, but generally and overall. I go out to a gay club about once a month, perhaps a little less (certainly less than Johnny Queer in the above example), yet I still see the same guys over and over. Sure I usually see mostly new ones, but chances are if I were there every weekend I'd see remarkably few fresh faces, and I live in one of the largest cities in the United States. Presumably Johnny Queer does not live in a city as large as the one I do. In which case he's likely to have many fewer gay clubs/bars, in which case there's likely to be even fewer fresh faces every weekend. Let's suppose Johnny is instead getting his tricks from visiting gay hook-up sites, or other local listings. Even in this case, that does readily facilitate anonymous sex, it's more or less the same core group of people that are always prowling (and again this would be even more true if the local area were even smaller and less densely populated). We've also got to remember that if Johnny Queer is indeed a typical gay guy, then chances are several of the people who hit on him won't interest him, and at least some of the people he wants to have sex with won't be interested.

This is so true! This is among the advice that sleep specialists often give their patients! Hmmm, my French is exceedingly poor and rusty, but I'll have a crack at it Il faut faire vite ce qui ne presse pas pour pouvoir faire lentement ce qui presse = It is necessary to quickly do something that isn't pressing so that that which is pressing may be done slowly. OHhh, I'll take care of this one for ya, Jamie! -Kevin
