  1. I've never had a proper snow fall! It would be fun!
  2. Congrats, Jan!!
  3. Darn it! I look away for a minute and you make it without me noticing! Congratulations, Jan!! Happy 1,000! It's been a pleasure getting to know you around the forums and working with you on various projects! Your posts are consistently thoughtful, insightful, and all around fun and amusing! I can't wait to see what's in store for the next 1,000!! Take care and have an awesome day! Kevin
  4. LOL, good point, and I like your two definitions of Hephaestusize, but I wasn't focusing on "travel" (thus, Hermes), I was focusing on the fact that Hephaestus had mangled feet. The Story of Hephaestus: Oh my gosh! I love this one!!!
  5. Me too!!! Congratulations, Colin!, We're all wishing you the best!! -Kevin
  6. Hi everyone! I just wanted to take a moment to congratulate Colin on a wonderful and important step that's he's taking! He and his life partner, Doug, have decided to file for domestic partnership!! I hope you don't mind, Colin, but I wanted to quote something you posted recently in the Lust thread in the Teen Spot forum: How beautiful and amazing! Colin, as long as I've known you I've thought what a positive, intelligent, inspiration you were to us all, and I've always been extremely happy and proud that you represent the most recent generation of adults in our community. I'm so happy for you guys and having had the chance to get to know you around GA, and having heard about Doug, I have every confidence that you guys have a really long, happy, successful, and prosperous life together ahead of you! All the best to you both -Kevin
  7. Because he's from Mississippi This has always been one of my favourites as well That was fun! Hmm, I guess I mostly agree with you. I think Hunter did have some depth to his character though, like , but I definitely would have really enjoyed it if the series had explored his character a little more. In fact I remember thinking that at the time. I think the main reason it didn't happen is that there were simply too many balls in the air by that time and the best they could do was use him as a plot device. I agree! I love the soundtrack! I've been dying to get it! This is perhaps my favourite dance number of the series! Here's a (very poor quality ) link to a video of Justin performing it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8_wBzBL_RQ Another song I really enjoyed him performing was "Let's hear it for the boy". This was also first season, in fact I think it was either 2nd or 3rd episode. This song was playing while he was trying to dance with other guys to make Brian jealous. Take care all and have a great day! Kevin
  8. Don't turn around - Ace of Base
  9. I'm really looking forward to this one! I've never found his face particularly attractive. He is a good actor though.
  10. I removed the two extra ones LOL, I just realized the same thing happened at the top of the page too! Beasty, am I going to have to follow you around?
  11. I still like flan
  12. Oh my gosh! Dude! That's so exciting!!!! I'm so happy for you!!! WOW! I wish you both many years of happiness and love together!

  16. Really? LOL, I have. I've never flown a spacecraft
  17. Plenty indeed! **goes to read**
  18. Who knew Greek gods could become verbs!?! I'm going to go with: Hephaestusize v. 1. To break or injure one's foot whilst pursuing an epic activity. 2. A very serious worsening of an injury to the foot or feet. His broken ankle hephaestusized and soon his entire foot had to be amputated! "Y'all" is the more common spelling, but personally I always go with "Ya'll". This is because in my mind I'm not creating a contraction from "you all", but instead from slangy "ya all". If I personally were going to be saying "YOU all" in the first place I'd annunciate carefully and include the "a" in all. No, it's when I'm already being lazy and shortening it to "ya all" that I'd go ahead and make it "ya'll". Plus, to me, "ya'll" is a more natural progression from "ya all", pronunciationwise that is, than "you all". Pronunciationwise - adj. 1. Relating to pronunciation. Pronunciationwise he thought "Ya'll" was a more natural progression from "ya all" than from "you all". -Kevin
  19. Here I think this is yours ***hands Snowy the :king: *** Careful, it's been passed around quite a bit recently
  20. Actually you're still a few hours early based on California time. Graeme (and the rest of us) have been giving him birthday wishes based on Australian time Never too early to start celebrating though, especially for such a nifty member
  21. Hmm, a few thoughts on this: You should hang out with the guy privately so that you can discuss this properly. I used to discuss QAF with Vancey and Matty when I was watching it. It definitely added to my enjoyment. -I really liked this episode a lot myself. The was really sweet and it was was one of the first instances in which we see I also really liked watching the Hmm, what did you think of this episode? Do you think it was necessary for Hmm, no I disagree a bit. I mean he was a genuine friend and he was cute, but he really did have a tendency to be self-absorbed and to not see the big picture. IMO, he frequently failed to understand where other people were coming from. In fact I may just argue that of all the main characters he was the one who most frequently failed in this regard. Think back to so many of his rifts with Brian, and the time he was SO or what about . No, I think Mikey is an excellent character and does a really wonderful job of embodying the perspective on the viewer, but he's very similar to so many other main characters in that he so frequently suffers from a tendency to be self-involved and to not see beyond the end of his nose. He sort of reminds me of Rory from Desert Dropping, yes he's lovable and cute, and yes his feelings are usually justifiable, but sometimes you just want to shake him and say "don't you get it!" Take care all and have an awesome day! -Kevin (who's having way too much fun with the spoiler feature )
  22. I agree with Graeme, Benji, and glomph Exactly, a good analogy is that random acts of violence, like say a drive by shooting in which the perpetrator doesn't know the victim, is a hell of a lot scarier than say a drive by shooting in which the perpetrator is killing someone who slept with his wife, or got him fired, or whatever. The reason is because it makes me (and others) think "It could have been me!" If someone is killed for a reason beyond their control it's scary. I can do my best to avoid becoming entangled with unstable, potentially homicidal individuals but there's nothing I can do if a random stranger wants to kill me. (I'm not saying it's the victims' fault at all, just that there's a little more warning and control that goes into it with the murderer is someone you know). Similarly it's scarier if someone is just going around killing gay people. I'm gay and I cannot and will not/would not change that, but if I'm minding my own business I should be left alone! There's a difference there, IMO. If the person threw a Christian (or atheist) in the toilet (or let's say the Bible for instance) simply because of their religious views that would be comparable, and I think they should receive the same treatment. Similarly someone who produced a "vulgar" work of art that seemed to be undermining any religion should potentially receive the same praise (based on merit of course). Art is a more civilized, subjective, creative form. Personally a "Piss Christ" offends me as a Christian, but I don't equate it to someone making a big deal about throwing the Bible in a toilet. I have no trouble ascribing a crime to what the perpetrator thought. To me it's all about motives. If someone backs over my cat I'm going to be really upset, but it's going to piss me off alot more, and I'm going to be spitting nails angry if the person did it on purpose to be malicious. Conversely if it was a total accident and the person is obviously sincerely sorry I'm still going to be sad, but I'm not going to be angry and I may very well try to make the person feel better and assuage their guilt. Exactly, it's the same difference that's always existed between 1st and 2nd degree murder and manslaughter. We have a long history of saying "It's worse that you carefully planned this dude's murder" vs. "Your negligence resulted in this guy's murder and you're going to be punished but we'll take into consideration that you didn't mean to". Motives are very important and crimes that affect whole classes of people are more serious. I've always held that the judicial system shouldn't be blind and completely objective; it needs to carefully weigh all the circumstances and decide on a case by case basis. No two crimes are equal. Just my thoughts, Kevin
  23. I've always wanted to see it! I'm definitely going to check it out! ****Warning Spoilers if you haven't seen the entire series!!**** Blake was my favourite recurring character as well. Yep, definitely a hottie! I don't think he was my favourite in terms of looks though. He was right up there, but I think early series Justin was more attractive. ...oh my, now I want to start several polls about QAF
  24. Aww Thanks, Benji You're right, Graeme, Perth is a very welcome addition to Gay Authors
