That's actually the hot issue for me. I think whether or not it's a choice should be a moot point. If it is a choice (which I'm not saying it is) there shouldn't be any value judgement attached IMO. It's like, "do you like the colour blue because you were born to, choose to, or taught/conditioned to?" Who the heck cares?! It's a perfectly nice colour, every bit as red or yellow, let's just enjoy it. Anyway I think to me the conversation between Kyle and Cameron seemed pretty weird. They both said and did things I personally wouldn't have said or done, but I think they were in character for themselves. Just my opinion though. Awesome job Vance! take care all, Kevin

Hi All! Like Michael, my take on it was that Kevin naturally calls them by their titles. I'm not sure I understand what you mean here. If he addresses them by their names how were their names not provided? Otherwise though I think that's a great theory about alinating them by not giving them names! Great point! Perhaps I can help you, David . Go to "My controls" at the very top, roughly below "site map", then go to the "Personal Profile" section on the left hand tool bar. Then select the 2nd option, "Edit signature". It'll bring up a box similar to the posting boxes. You can use this to paste in links encouraging people to read Nick's stuff. Just copy the link from his shared hosted page. Also it's best to use the "link" buttong to do it. That's the little globe with a chain link in front of it (right next to the colour "A" and roughly below the drop down "size" menu). It'll bring up a prompt asking for the address, paste that in, then hit okay and it'll bring up another prompt asking you to name your page. Call it whatever you like (Nick's stories or something) and that's how it'll look as a clickable link. You can also play with the formatting to make it stand out more, just make sure you don't accidently mess up the code. If you want to use the image that Michael and Nick himself use I think you'll have to get a code from Nick. I'm really glad you guys are wanting to help promote his stories! The links in the signatures are an excellent method. So is just posting relevant things in this thread for that matter . I believe Nick doesn't read the threads while he's writing so as to avoid being swayed. I will mention to him that you guys were talking about it though! Take care and have an awesome day all! Kevin

Volunteers should be experienced writers (but need not necessarily be hosted or shared hosted authors) who want to assist other writers by helping to facilitate their creative process. You would act as a soundboard for their ideas, perhaps help with stylistic suggestions, or help them establish their reader base. Nope, I live alone (well with Lucky). I absolutely adored my first set of roommates several years ago. I agree, Michael! It's very powerful when the consequences speak for themselves. It's also very true to life. If you get right down to it most people spend much more time dealing with the result of some drama or conflict than actually having the drama or conflict. That's a very fascinating take on Jack's mother and what might happen. I think you're right, one of the best aspects of the story is that it's left up to our imagination. Perhaps as soon as they got home she called him up, said she was in remission and wanted to spend the rest of her (2nd chance at) life making it up to him. I really enjoyed the first three chapters! I'm looking forward to finding out if Ben and Jeff end up together or if perhaps Ben really is straight. My guess is that he's either "confused" or just plan scared for some unknown reason. Josh definitely seems like he's going to be a major character. I was thinking perhaps he'd even end up being the boyfriend and Ben would be the friend. However, I still think it's more likely the other way around. Anyway I'm looking forward to reading more!
