  3. Hey Bob! Thanks Great point! I hope some day the world is such that a typical straight guy will want to learn more about gay issues. Aww thanks I just read something IN one of those books I wanted to discuss Anyway take care and have an awesome day! Kevin
  4. Awww! Thanks Vance!
  5. hehe! Just thought I'd bump this old thread and see if anyone has any "last minute" predictions. I believe I originally voted for Mikey, but I'm now thinking Cody.
  6. Do you guys mean like this: "Hey, I'm going to The Lounge now to read the language thread. You guys wanna come with?" Or "Tomorrow I'm going to the announcement forum to see if there are any updates. You want to go with?" Yes, I think this originally began in the midwest or North too. However, I've had a couple of friends who were extremely fond of the expression and used it frequently (and seemingly naturally). I believe it was also a common part of the dilect of a character on a popular television series (though I don't remember which one); that could explain why it's growing in popularity. It annoyed me a little at first, but it's growing on me. Now I think it's kind of cute.
  7. LOL that must be what CJ is hunting: inquisitive people! Looks like you can scratch that item off your list and move on to the next one Actually a little goaty told me (and swore me to secrecy on the details I'm afraid) that this scavenger hunt would not only be TONS of fun, but would also offer fabulous prizes!
  8. Happy Birthday Jared!!! I hope you have a really awesome day and a terrific year!
  9. Ya know that a Zephyr is an old rollercoaster and a baseball team! *nods* You make a `right-hand turn' instead of a right turn. haha! Yup, I hadn't even realized it until I read this. You judge a restaurant by its bread. That or the quality of the bathroom. Someone at a crawfish boil says, `Don't eat the dead ones
  10. Hey Vance! Awww man! That really sucks about all that junk at work . Ben's right, they need to lay off on the extra work or lay on some serious extra money! YAY for you three day weekend! I've always wanted to see Queer as Folk, but I've still never seen a single episode! Sounds good from what I hear though! Take care and I'll talk to you ....well now actually Kevin
  11. {Paraphrased scene from Friends} Ross to Susan as he surveys their book collection: "You guys sure have a lot of books about being a lesbian" Susan: "Yeah, well you have to pass a test or the won't let you do it" So I was at Barnes & Noble and I realized that my own personal library was completely devoid of books about being gay. So I sauntered (I was going for a gay book after all) over to the Gay Studies section. A long with three other titles (I'm also now the proud owner of The Joy of Gay Sex - which actually, not quite as hot or informative as I was expecting, but I figured it's a "must have" for a modern gay boi ) I decided to purchase a book on "coming out". I mostly consider myself "out", but there's still some family and old friends left that I need to tell so I figured why not. Anyway, interesting thing about buying a book about coming out, you kind of have to already BE OUT to buy it. I'm definitely out enough to buy it. It was actually kind of fun watching the sales clerk try to act casual and unflustered, but the irnoy struck me. It's sort of like getting a book on wedding planning AS a wedding gift. "Why thank you, MaryJo, I'll be sure to keep this handy for after the devorce when I'm dating seriously again." I also noticed an intriguing label on my facial cleanser. It seems I needn't worry, the product wasn't tested on animals. Now I think that's a very good and important thing for some consumer goods. Like chain saws for example. "yeah Bill, looky here, this baby'll take the head off a full growed elk in 3 seconds flat *spit* says so right here on the box." Still it is a relief to know that no where out there is a white rat having to endure "radiant, non-oily skin" *gasp!*. We all know they don't test condoms on animals. Rodents have notoriously poor access to birth control. This is of course how rabbits got such a bad rap. Of course they don't test those coming out books on animals either. No, the prefer to use young gay people. "Well that sure didn't work! George, make a note to leave sky writing out of the revised edition." Anyway take care all and have an awesome day!! Also I do hope no one takes anything in this entry seriously. I have the utmost amount of respect for the coming out process and I'm firmly against all animal testing. Besides I've already decided what my next entry is going to be about and it'll be painfully serious.
  12. Hey Drew! Yeah, I'm pretty close with my family too, but I have a pretty small immediate family: My mom, grandparents, an aunt and a cousin. I have other family members, but I'm not nearly as close with them. Anyway to be honest I figure by the time I'd actually be in Canada or the UK (for good), I'll be much older and well.... (I'm not gonna finish that sentence) You're right, Massachusetts would be a cool place to live too! Anyway take care and have a terrific day! Kevin
  13. Wow! Awesome chapter, Nick! Right up until the end it felt like such a great
  14. Last night? No, but I got PLENTY yesterday morning, afternoon, and evening The person below me has no clean towels, or dishes
  15. Sometimes "fantasies" don't always stay happy and positive. Ever seen Vanila Sky? Very good point I hope so. It'll make for such a moving, conflicted story. I was thinking they already had. Interesting point though, it does look like Jessica is softening a little. I guess we'll have to wait and see. I think the Martins should divorce though. Exactly what I was thinking actually, Robbie. Or perhaps David and Oliver are Doliver AND David and Oliver. I mean maybe David is a seperate person. But maybe there's another David that's also part of Oliver's MPD. I don't really believe that, but it's possible and would be very interesting. Take care all and have a day filled with happiness and a night filled with peace. Kevin
  16. Great post, Kurt! I don't agree with all of it 100%, but that's definitely my feeling on quite a few points.
  17. Happy Birthday Gary!! I hope you have an awesome day and a great year! Take care, Kevin
  18. a Sub Cherry tomato I don't say "All ya'll", but I do say "ya'll" Glove compartment. I thought it was the funniest thing ever the first time I heard someone call it a "glove box" sometimes I do it both ways, sometimes the pirate way previously described, sometimes the "aww" way. HAHAHAHAHA! well when I say it I clearly stress the "a" sound.
  19. I saw bits of an episode once at a friend's place. It did seem funny. I'd love to hear that speech you were talking about. So does the DEA agent KNOW about Nancy's line of work? LOL I saw Saved! it was pretty funny IMO too. take care all and have a terrific day! Kevin
  20. I agree with Graeme. The counseling might be benificial if it just gives you a chance to talk about your thoughts and feelings, fears and concerns etc. (I personally think everyone could benefit from an occasional therapy session), but the counselor shouldn't be trying to "fix it" or help you because you're "confused". You're mom could benefit from a few sessions too since she needs to get used to the idea and adjust as well. we're all here for you and wishing you the best, Jared. Good Luck! Kevin
  21. I really enjoyed chapter 6! I was so surprised to see that time had advanced to the court hearing! I thought the trail scene was really well-written and I thought the part about Kevin not knowing whether to stand or not when the Judge returned to his private chambers really added to the story and gave it a more human feel. It was awful how Kevin's mother not only didn't take any responsibility for what happened, but didn't even seem sorry about it! I was very impressed with how perceptive Kevin is to immediately pick up on this and know that he's better off with his grandparents (it's similar to the scene in the previous chapter when he immediately realized that his father wasn't going to be taking it home). I can definitely understand Kevin's embarrassement at having everyone see his mother behaving like that, but I think it's for the best. Now they'll be less likely to ever make him stay with her again. I was so shocked to hear that Steele was only 7 years old! I guess looking back on it he does seem rather young, but I had no idea he was only 7! Nick must have gotten a kick out of me speculating whether or not he'd be Kevin's love interest! On that note it sounds like the mysterious boy at the end of the chapter is the real love interest! I can't wait to see what happens next! Awesome job, Nick! Take care all and have a great day! Kevin
  22. HAHAHA!
  23. Great story, I really enjoyed it
