His disappearing words are a mix of present and past… I love(d) you. So who is the reincarnation of the past? Perhaps the visit to the museum for research was ended before more questions could formulate and be researched. What if they found or can find a picture of this ancestor that has Elias still holding no contempt. Beautifully written with a mix of confused love, developing and/or hidden bonds, and the mystery of the past now visiting the present…or is it the past revealing what could and should have been? Hmmm, so much to consider and so many possibilities…the big reveal at the museum may be more shocking than dear Marilou can handle. lol 😂

War is a dirty business, it is easier for armed and uniformed combatants, they know the rules and generally spy’s or moles are much less common. Contested lands, people, and governance are all too frequent to pit neighbors against neighbors, and this was especially true with the Nazi divide and conquer in politics, social status, and populace. I don’t condone the actions of the young French, though trying to protect your family and your life makes humanity leave us…as survival is too often desperation. Poor Karl, the riggers of war are destined to leave him ever closer to Robert, papa Hopkins. I hope the talks and observations he made during his youthful escape and host family stay gave him the understanding to put this all in prospective. His observations of the similarities while on the German ship, yet that they fought against the forces protecting his host family and for his homeland, things he knew to be rightfully worth defending. Karl keeps thinking of those things that have meaning and purpose to him, which is good to anchor himself to reality, but he even shows some understanding of why and how those torturing him have distrust and a course unlike to change without time to calm the larger threats. Hang in there Karl. Clement, please continue to see the truths and defend this young hero, perhaps you’re a similar good soul caught in the nasty traps of war.

Whether the expectations of the readers or you as the author are met, enjoyable, rewarding, etc., can only be measured by the response it gives you and/or brings from your readers. Whether the responses today may have been less numerous or less positive than you had hoped, is still the best vote and reward that your talents have brought us ALL here…after three books, so I’d say that’s a big vote of worthiness. Likewise, the ole King Who Wore No Clothes is the best analogy I think to remind you of; without honest (hopefully respectful or at least not brash) comments you’d never get what so many authors seek with the “post as you go” writing; otherwise, why not post and forget? Conversely, false smiles or fake comments leave you climbing upon the Dias without any clothes. So take the comments as nothing more than opinion or review…but it’s a whole lot better than no followers or no comments. At the end of it all, it’s your story, but your total followers and the total story comments your story has says you are up to the task.

Goodness, even as Karl hated to leave his family, he boarded his first voyage and the water adventures that seem to haunt young Karl began. His time in the Royal Air Force is quickly being matched by time on sea adventures. Then thinking of the dreams where he’s on the water again. What and how Karl seems to find these people with only a few degrees of separation is amazing but it’s not his own; not his English family and friends, his comrades in arms, or his home land family and friends…time is still on his side for now though.

I’ve enjoyed the introduction and follow through of the different gods, it has been a long storyline thread, with a consistent element that they have devine rules and limitations; which is a great reflection on the ole “everyone has a boss” reality check. Vinsy has always battled to stay more pure while still standing up to his bullies. However, the unexpected execution of the challenging Alpha won Vinnie prestige, land, and …a guilty sense of WHY? So this build up to the battle has tested Vinsy and yet he still feels reserve against murder as punishment for the power hungry and greedy murderer. Enter the godly debate that has been in play for a long while, so I think everyone would foresee a possible coached intervention; after all, the godly visits were not direct concern for Vinnie personally, but for the veil and humanity as a whole. Vinnie just made it easy to support as he has character and ethics as references to his worthiness. I certainly don’t see this as a last minute ass pull twist of infinite mortality for Vinsy, but hopefully a godly ass kicking and an ultimate neutering of Stefan and his magic…any magic remaining should comply with the grants expected of the Goddess of Mischief. I don’t mean to challenge your intelligence or insult you, this storyline has been long and the unique aspect of the writer’s manuscript and edits make it easy to remember many aspects without some reflection.y as I certainly find myself reviewing many aspects myself. Many chapters ago the goddess cautioned of the limitations she has, yet this chapter pays respect to that thought with a difficult debate and more resolve to follow the rules…and any loopholes are still honorable for the gods and for Vinsy as he may share the solution while respecting his own resolve to not kill Stefan. I live in Orlando, but have family in Naples and Ft Myers. Luckily everyone and all structures are fine; thousands for tree and yard clean up and the pool cages are all likely to need replacement before the frogs and skeeters take over…but everyone is alive and the rest gets reflects life in the southeast. Lmao 😂, this reminded me of my very early, young age, understanding of baseball…so like a cat 🐱 the game has nine life’s called endings…but each team had their own turn at their endings…so the game was truly the same as waiting 18 lifes! I’m hoping the husband/wife team as parents noticed the evidence of Jack/Jake the mechanic’s assault and Devlin’s discret move; perhaps a personal welcome revealed the cottage vacated by Devlin. Devlin’s luck would be that the mechanic is a brother or uncle that resents the true owners for family reasons, but likewise, they keep him there out of a sense of obligation to family. No doubt Jack is an asshole and a criminal with his assault on Devlin. Assault is no small crime and once committed the repeat offenses come freely and often.

I understand where many of the comments are coming from, but I pull upon the introduction where Devlin was suffering possible physical and/or mental trauma from his loss of family and bullying. Notably the bullying went unreported and was exacerbated by Devlin not wanting to disclose his losses. I’m no psychologist but Devlin seems to be blaming himself or possibly suffering insecurity of attachment for fear of more loss…or that his mind believes he deserves no more than his past. Yes, Devlin could also be suffering more health issues due to the crash/accident, but the decisions leading up to that moment at the RR crossing were simply his past and his health prior to the train mishap….Devlin needs help, but he also needs support until the help gets him in a better place. His current thinking and actions are putting him at risk, as not every person will render aide without also taking advantage…if aide is even considered. He could have still been trapped in his old vehicle without anyone seeing it and no one knowing where to look for him or how to locate. 🤦‍♂️ This is a sad state to witness…even in fiction.
