Charlie already experienced a different type of life and confidence. As a bastard child one would think he would be the first to want to leave. Maybe he was personally, but the health of his mom may have already been a consideration even then. But like a squirrel crossing in front of a car, it’s mostly home free, but startled that squirrel will reverse to cross once again in front of the car, seeking the perceived safety he enjoyed before; leaving the known behind can be inherently more scary for some than others. Charlie was said to be happy and accepting, but of his choice or of his destiny? Keiran being goal driven, whether striving for his own goals or more so to prove his nagging father that he could make it in a trade of his choice, not traditional role acceptance. So a hint of Charlie wanting the traditional may have made Keiran even more determined to show he could make his own way. Not to prove Charlie wrong but to prove he could make it despite what his father believed. Neither had confidence to call. Either they couldn’t admit their own reservations and doubts or they couldn’t give up and prove that destiny had them trapped. Like magnets that attracted them in one orientation yet repelled in the other. Now the life has given their hearts and minds an opportunity to reevaluate, to start anew, will they find themselves making new choices or reversing to the same to try again? I think they understand themselves better now, and through their own lessons they understand each other also. Keiran’s family support may make things a lot easier than when the paranoid teens were making their own way through perceptions and insecurities too.

Poor Daisy, a life of companionship and devotion. Though shy to let others have the same trust, her scrutiny made for a good gauge of character for those to be around Drew. Hmmm 🤔, did she ever bite step-mommy dearest? Perhaps before that infamous “I do” a bite might have prevented a lot of grief. In my younger years, my brothers and I got a dog; said to be a bird dog and boxer mix. He had the classic black eye patches and a black circle about the base of his tail; otherwise he was white. From the generation of Johnny Quest, naturally the puppy became Bandit. With two older brothers off to school, Bandit became more and more my dog. At 10, I got a sizable paper route, covering about 8 miles on bicycle, on mostly dirt roads. Afternoon deliveries were fine, but the weekend deliveries required riding into the the big dark of night; I returned home and called Bandit, telling him to come on. Come along he did. Every weekend from my tenth birthday until my sixteenth birthday, Bandit trotted beside me; fending off chasing dogs but most importantly the night and any undesirable activity that becomes it. At sixteen my route expanded to about fifteen miles, but I had a little beater Opel Kadette; so rain or shine the papers now came by car, though difficult to teach Bandit to keep to the back seat. As papers flew left and right from the front windows, he did indeed learn to sit and enjoy the scenery from his throne in the back. Unfortunately, during the family vacation my senior year, Bandit fell to sickness and age. There is perhaps no stronger bond than that of a boy and his trusty companion; hardly ever a disagreement, never words spoken in regret…just devotion and if need be, protection. Bandit was the greatest friend I ever had. 😢 For the Bandits and Daisys forever by our sides or in our memories, good doggy 🐕.

Goodness, some of these passages of Keiran’s thoughts, reflections, and regret ring too close to home for me. My friend, FWB, roommate, and then lover, in that order, was a year behind me in college; but he was a few years ahead of me sexually, at least in gay expression, experience, and identifying. That difference was a little too much for me at that age and time. I just wasn’t ready to totally accept that as the permanent me nor was I ready to think of myself as settling down when making friends was easy and natural. So much like Keiran, I became less comfortable with his migrating thoughts towards forever partners and changing my planned goals. I graduated, I said goodbye, and I left. The regret was insidious but ever present. We made contact through the years; earlier years more awkward than later. Until much later we talked more comfortably of the thens and nows. I had made a life of my own, a family with kids I cherish. The wife later learned of the relationship my old lover, roommate and I had. Needless to say, she wasn’t happy; Jealous of a past, before her time, and resentful of the gay relationship history left untold. Left untold for the very reasons she demonstrated after her learning of it. It was before her time yet she acted as if I was having an affair then and now, 🤦♂️, and that it was just unnatural. As to my first true lover, our contact is not as frequent as I wish, but it is always good to hear of his life and share mine; we both see a little of BrokeBack Mountain overlaying our tale. But we are still here and we still make contact and bid warm farewells until the next time.

I still very much remember the days of a “bastard” child. They were sometimes treated just as a stray dog…no home, or the mom not there, and wanting food. It’s hard to work in an age where the majority of women were home with their kids; what’s a single mom gonna do? Most likely hourly, low wage, no benefit jobs. Yet the people that force that upon her judge her as if it was her choice. Especially when a few others went on “exchange” trips on short notice, yet returned non the more worldly?? So orphaned bastards are ok, but try to keep the child and you’re trash. 🤦♂️ Hypocrites!

I don’t necessarily think it’s over between Carter and Laura, I mean Dexter, crap…Jeremy! Phew 😮💨, he is broken though, and Carter knows this as his words and angry frustration tells him as much; yet,…he still loves Jeremy and he takes part of the blame as he misled Jeremy too. But he knows Laura better than Jeremy thinks, and probably Laura herself. If only Jeremy wouldn’t ask a question to immediately say shut up or stop what you’re saying, huh? 🤔 Is this Squid Game; red light, green light **BANG**. Carter shares some of Jeremy’s frustration too. He doesn’t even know or understand his own history, only now learning of his mother, his brother, father, etc. Yet that hardly completes the picture of where, why, how, who, and WHAT happened in his family’s past. Carter too, needs to stop the emotional hesitancy, speak the facts quickly before Jeremy yells stop or shut up; Whimpering..Jeremy you don’t understand…shut up! No! Damn it Jeremy, I just learned who my bio family is and that still doesn’t explain shit, so YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP! Ahem, I still love you. 😞 Please tell me Laura and Dexter were so proudly prancing across the crosswalk that they fail to see/hear the freight truck before SMACK, game over BITCH. Accepting that my wish is not to happen, please tell me all these ranted phrases Laura and Dexter keep spewing will be use in consideration of their criminal sentencing, but that execution still wins out! 🙏 🙏

Interviews, and the Big Move
Philippe commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Interviews, and the Big Move
Good for Jonathan! While the released message is unprofessional by traditional standards, it is only rightfully admitting that it is unauthorized by NOAA; factual as unauthorized but provides reference and validation of credible forecasting. So Eric, sport that modeling down the runway while all eyes follow Calvin to landfall. Meanwhile, back at the new NHC West location in Texas, …. Peter puts life before spite. Wise of Elena to retain or hire as it is, talent such as Peter; damn the phony pride of Eric.- 35 comments

Good grief, just when they were communicating better they now have reverted; not talking and work out the issues, Carter not saying enough and Jeremy say too much… spouting Laura’s words of entitled hatred. So now his world collapsed and he’s withdrawing again. Laura plans to have Jeremy torturing Carter, so I guess the bag over the head while encouraging Jeremy to pay back the murderer of his father. Just more ways to totally break Jeremy when it’s revealed what his mother has done, and what he himself has let hatred to him in to. His true love betrayed him out of love and compassion, yet Jeremy feels Ethan was unworthy and undeserving…yet Jeremy loved him dearly. Now Carter walks the same path, and once again Jeremy’s love is seemingly unworthy and undeserving, yet Jeremy loves him dearly too. See the trend here Jeremy?? Open your eyes and ears to your own heart. Stop listening to Laura’s ranting in manipulating hatred. Laura and Dexter are truly made for one another, pure evil infecting everyone they by off with money, power, and status; oh but a house of cards when the truth breaks, and their arrogance seems ready to trip the trap upon themselves with just a little unexpected help. Perhaps the driver escaped to alert Eric?? The police are compromised so help from them has to come from a special task force perhaps already closing on Dexter and Laura for deeds past and present. 🤞

Getting Closer, and Spit Happens
Philippe commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Getting Closer, and Spit Happens
It all sounds wonderfully analytic for the person justifying vengeful or power grab decisions, but usually there is money and/or status, promotion or power, to be gained either directly or indirectly (such as promotion, or from the sale of a program or business). Being a government again y, I suspect the pissed off data cruncher that apologized may have not been so sincere or perhaps found an ally, but me smells fish in that NHC decision. Paying back the homophobic dad and ex may be Peter’s own sense of obligation but the furniture I pretty sure was a gift to him, without the Princess Prima-Donna having claims of cohabitation or engagement. Therefore, no separation or division of property within legal boundaries, nor would Peter owe full purchased price for something he didn’t have direct knowledge or was he actively involved in the financial decisions of. So…. I would have told them they could pound sand or perhaps accept present market value at best. Should they threaten court, remind them with a legal response, they would be dragging their precious name and their own son through the public news and records of the proceedings. It wouldn’t bode well for the homophobic dad or Princess Prima-Donna to self-inflict further damage or humiliation. 🤣 -
Transitions and Surprises
Philippe commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Transitions and Surprises
Sorry for the first, and best wishes on the second. Life is cruel at times, as the heart doesn’t sway for consequences, even if it seems a cruel joke for others involved. Many would be quick to judge, saying one should have walked away, but many that have done so meet decades later in a bar to express regrets; so who is to know what life has in store. Best of Luck- 27 comments

Transitions and Surprises
Philippe commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Transitions and Surprises
I Kissed a Boy and I Liked It! Ok, probably shouldn’t have told her in her own house, though being out in public does present problems too. At least maybe Aaron might have may a better plan and timing for his grand proclamation. Hopefully the family will come around but it doesn’t look too promising at the moment. 😣 Then again, maybe daddy dear will surprise us with a more accepting attitude, and some what mediate more rational contact with these young men. So much for storm forecasting, as Peter missed a big one developing under his nose! 😂 A Water Sprout named Aaron, with potentially devastating damage to Peter’s environment; further modeling required.- 27 comments

Wow, what a suspenseful time of life; new life partners, prioritizing jobs, job locations, and trying to understand what the finances and budget will allow…all while making these decisions with someone else’s life and desires to consider. This chapter does a wonderful job capturing the real world angiexty of young new life and careers. It likewise captures the aspects to consider more than chasing the dollar or decisions for show and tell bragging; step back and evaluate your choices against your goals and desires. I loved the interactions of all the characters. Too many never experience an interview of sorts; too bad.

I guess I’m not convinced that several red herrings and misdirections are not at play here. Hahaha 🤪 only now with Carter’s own hand involved, do we have better indication that Ethan and Carter’s biological father is the third father figure involved with the twins’ youth; Simon, Dexter’s dad, and now Leo…assuming again that the Carter chain of custody for the DNA testing was not tampered with… Remember, Laura was only too enthusiastic for Carter to hold and keep the secret box…from Elena/Grace that Dexter/Laura had kidnapped and executed, but that magically appeared when Laura was able to win Jeremy’s commitment to return home but only if Carter is allowed to have full access to the house too. It is very suspicious that Ethan’s diary, from Elena’s possessions, both killed by the Dexter/Laura pair, doesn’t get Laura diving to snatch, investigate, or withhold, until she knows what’s there?? Instead deferring to Carter’s care all while knowing Carter believes sharing is essential to his and Jeremy’s relationship. Hmmm 🧐, me smells rats all about. What of these stories tainted by, or manipulated by Laura, can we trust? I can trust the son was indeed the little brother…if verified by trusted witnesses. Likewise, do we know that all the sons were of Jeremy’s father and Laura’s blood? At this rate, I’m not sure why Jeff hasn’t been manipulated or threatened himself. From Dexter Jeff is safe, but from Laura…why so controlling and manipulative of Jeremy but not Jeff? Why does Laura want Jeremy with Dexter? There is much yet to reveal of the true motivations from years of deception from Laura.

A good start for Carter, now don’t back down. Hopefully Sheila will become more supportive and helpful. Who was the boy with Jeremy’s father, was it indeed Jeremy, as the timeline is somewhat vague. But could there be another son that jeopardized Jeremy’s reign for Laura, if so, what happened to the boy? If Jeremy, why doesn’t he remember more…will the talk with Carter’s dad help jog a young brainwashed boy’s mind? I could see Laura killing a husband that not only cheated on her , but father another son that could that away power and influence from Laura…so murder Jeremy’s dad. Ahhh 😱, but if they find evidence, Laura has already set the presidence of what should happen to the murderer of Jeremy’s father; come on boys, find the damning evidence of Laura’s misdeeds. Now where and how does Dexter figure into this twisted drama? He can’t be the one Jeremy’s father wants protected, as Laura wouldn’t embrace that. So how does Dexter become Laura’s partner in crime?

Oh goodness, I came down with some aggressive Mono right at exams of my junior year at college; I had to rest at each landing going up to the third floor. Off to the clinic immediately after the exam; thank goodness that trip was a short walk and mostly downhill slope. 😝 The quick test confirmed the Mono, the shot in the butt confirmed I was listening, and the prescription confirmed to my roommate that I needed extra attention….ahem, well as much as he could safely give. 🙃 Poor Cooper, discovered the identity of the guest but he is only getting a partial explanation. It sounds as if Kristian’s younger brother probably wasn’t there when his father likely blew his top with Kristan, then what of th mom’s involvement? Kristian being mugged almost sounds like the “accidents” battered family members have when in disagreement with forces like Mr Battersby. Either way, Kristan probably has good reason to not trust his complete family, but just exactly why is not known; beyond young Kristan himself and the other(s) involved. Hmmm, I wonder how th young chef is going to enjoy living with a great roommate, protector, mentor, and friend as they will probably both, Kristian and Cooper, be going to the new house and closer to campus. The boys have much to discuss, when the timing and confidence returns enough for meaningful goals can be set.

Ok, now you’re baiting @Lee Wilson, that’s unnecessary, as it could even make…hurricane paths unpredictable, or the predictor unavailable….nope, don’t go there!

My experience with these offers, if sincere, they are not made with prejudice. If Mickey has reasons to not go to the Justice that made the offer, then that Justice may very well steer him to another opportunity that will help build his skills. They can mentor for the room next door or from afar with another protege facilitating the process until Mickey sees himself ready and able to accept his next assignment/offer. Remember, Mickey is younger than his peers. Even though not much younger he deserves than consideration in this milestone in life. Likewise, probably not one justice there was without knowledge of the major social attack made on these young men. A little divergence before clerkship with he Supreme Court is possibly a strategic advantage to calm media interest.

Chapter 19: Carter digs deeper. Will he be shattered?
Philippe commented on vanalas's story chapter in Chapter 19: Carter digs deeper. Will he be shattered?
Carter is wrong to cut Leo off without hearing his words. Yes, he is a convicted murderer…but how much money was sorted in his conviction. Jeremy is guilty of extreme hatred towards anything Leo…no doubt with much brain washing from Laura. Jeremy is normally more rational but on this matter he did start to sound exactly like Laura. Just as Ethan had cancer…it was not the natural order. Leo was truthful when declaring Laura a very dangerous woman; that should have given Carter pause, but again, everything Carter has witnessed from Laura has fallen into the category of a distraught mother and widow. However, Laura was probably at risk of divorce or just plan greed had her wanting all control of the family assets; hence, Leo becomes the patsy fall guy for murder. Now how to figure this all out. Dexter is so convinced he is superior in love and devotion for Jeremy, he will probably make a threat against Carter’s life, but in arrogance, he will likely need to brag about how their plans were perfect until Carter. Then explain how he is only returning to the plan and it’s all Carter’s fault for this terrible delay to Dexter’s happiness. Hopefully Jeremy hears/records it all from Laura and Dexter, so that the new generation with Leo and his cleared conviction, can enjoy their life as it should have been. -
You Can’t Please Everyone
Philippe commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in You Can’t Please Everyone
NOPE, Modeling is just that trying to predict the unpredictable details of nature. AI doesn’t do it either, it doesn’t have intelligence, it’s software without emotions. Emulating voice inflections and emotional sounding responses doesn’t make it emotionally compassionate; I wouldn’t put the crisis hotlines in the “hands” of AI. Raymond is rejecting social interaction and learning; he hasn’t even observed anything to discredit the rumors. -

Well… he’s been there longer, so his seniority makes him smarter right?? Next in line for forecasting and supervisory positions?? Not some stupid prick that has a lucky guess and holds on th car mirrors for drama! Hahahaha -
Yes, careful of the words you sow as their reach is heard without bounds. Poor Jeremy and Carter, their history and backgrounds are so distorted that no one seems to know the truth of it all. Which is back to the real reality they should focus on; this is who they are and they can control their own destiny. Cherish your own lives, to hell with living the lives of others. You have each other, and two loving kids. Build your own lives and legacies. Can it be interesting or perhaps helpful to know the truth? Probably. But that truth is only knowledge, and nothing else, it holds no value nor sway if you accept it as the life and doings of those unknown to you; so what, there’s no shame, no blackmail, no extortion value,…it’s just history to understand. So Elena, Grace, what the heck did you get up to? Who’s their real bio daddy? The name changes and hiding the twins does tend to support Leo being the father. But that could be just hiding from rumors while not wanting to expose the truth; the ole “two wrongs doesn’t make a right” may be to play too. Elena should have known the truth but did she share that with anyone…is there more hidden within the box? A hidden compartment or some token of truth to be revealed? Carter, share with Jeremy. If he can’t see the real you then you’re better off finding out now; but the slap of truth should make Jeremy re-evaluate his position and then the team can solve this dilemma together. The enemy is closer than they think 🧐; Laura, Dexter, etc,. Find the nuggets of truth before your lives are forfeit!

Possibly the same age as Cooper, but too thin. Leah thinks him familiar and he asked of Cooper’s return. So possibly a classmate of Cooper and his cop friend/classmate, so….who is this K? And why is he so scared, or is he so ashamed?
-
Perhaps this situation will wake dad up. The one needing to be controlled is the stepmother, what a piece of work she is; public relations being as they are, she is not an asset to his businesses either. Casey and Drew may get a new opportunity for their relationship to prove what the church says about love and support, not the prejudices.

The big IF…without any issues. One can hope the American branch is already a little rogue; perhaps false reporting to the motherland? 😛
