September Signature Excerpt: The Art Of Being Gay By Cole Matthews
Lisa commented on Cia's blog entry in Gay Authors News
There's another scene where Roy's mom is even funnier! Cole, I'm glad you picked an excerpt I already read! Now that I'm home, I'm going to continue reading.- 18 comments

I bet it's a letter from Morgan, confessing his true feelings for Chad. I loved the way you wrote the scene with Roy, Chad, Candy, and Justin. I really like Candy. But was she saying will Justin's laugh be enough for her in the long run? Obviously that's not all she loves about him! Dammit! I have to leave for work now. I'll try to finish the story tonight. lol I'm so addicted; I wish I could read at work!

Oh, the poor kid!! He must have been mortified! lol Obviously Peterson was, otherwise he wouldn't have bolted! I absolutely LOVE male strip shows; they're SO MUCH FRIGGEN FUN!!! Ok, so I didn't go straight to bed last night (this morning); I read this chapter and the next one in bed. I could have kept going all night with this story!

Signature Feature September's Signature Feature: The Art Of Being Gay By Cole Matthews
Lisa commented on Cia's blog entry in Gay Authors News
I'm only on chapter six!!! I have fourteen more chapters to go! lol Oh man, what a great story!!!! All I want to do is continue reading, but I have to stop now...it's 12:48 a.m. What time is the feature later? Maybe I can still make it... -
I don't trust Peterson as far as I can throw him. He's gotta be lying. Why the hell would Tyrell have him 'spy' on Roy? Tyrell knows Roy's doing all right. And I thought for sure he was jealous of Chad. Humpf! I guess I was wrong. He's just an ass. It's great that Justin's gonna visit! Roy's a doll to offer his house to them. Hopefully, the scratch on Eileen's car won't stop her from letting Justin drive up to see his dad. Ok, I gotta stop now; it's 12:45 a.m., and I gotta get to bed. Damn, I'm supposed to be editing something for Val, but now I'm all into this story! It's all your fault, Cole! That's what I'm gonna tell her!

Peterson is sooooo jealous. It seems like he and Roy had a 'thing' at one time. Idk...from what Chad sees, it seems like Roy is nervous around Peterson, and Peterson seems the same way around Roy. It's weird. The whole scene in Roy's kitchen with his mom and Chad was hysterical! Chad was having a grand old time with the drag queens! lol Wish I coulda been there to see it.

Sofonda Dix!! lol Ha! I didn't get it until Charlie mentioned it in his review (the first one I read). I said it out loud a few times, and NOW I get it! Drag shows are the best, aren't they? They're so much fun! My friend and I used to go to a gay club in our town (they since closed down ), called Triangles, and they would have cross-dressing contests and drag shows; it was really a lot of fun. Now there's nowhere to go for that. I'm glad Chadder's loosening up -- although he's not going to be too happy in the morning! Especially since it's still a workday! lol So what did the curtain falling mean? Did it fall on Chad, or did he fall over?! Hahah
-
Oh my God, the ending was just priceless!! Lonnie will be working the make-up counter and feminine hygiene! hahahah The rat bastard! I didn't realize Roy and Tyrell were such good friends. Comes in handy for getting revenge on Lonnie. What an ass he is! And of course, you can't go wrong with Garth Brooks on your playlist!

I thought it was so cool that Roy's mom knows him better than he knows himself! lol I really loved how she described Roy's father, back when he was nice and sweet. Makes me sad for her. She's lived this whole time with her husband behind bars? Wow, she really stuck with him. It's good that Roy saw his father in a different light, even though what his father did was wrong, of course. So yeah, Chad. Poor guy -- certainly not a good thing to freak out on your first day on the job! (Was it his first day?) Great chapter, Cole! I'm going to try and read all of them by tomorrow. lol Wish me luck!!

Wow, so after reading Graeme's, Jess', and Val's reviews, I realized I had the story all wrong! I really did think Ethan shifted into all those creatures! lol He is one fucked-up dude! When he kept switching around each sentence he wrote, I thought he was OCD or something. lol Or maybe just an editor... I don't normally go for shifter/werewolf stories, but I had to read it because it came from Skinnyland! And you never know what treasures you will find there!!! -
Ron, I'm so happy you're posting this story!! This was one of my many favorites of yours! Like Graeme, I'm going to reread it here because I read it so long ago, I can't remember all the details.

Week Eighteen Wednesday Dec 31, 2014: Blessings
Lisa commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Eighteen Wednesday Dec 31, 2014: Blessings
Danny's shooting star gave me chills. So I have chills as well as tears. Tears of happiness for D&T finally getting together, and tears of sadness because two of my most favorite stories have/are coming to and end: Twoey and ET. I absolutely LOVED this story, Skinny! i was riveted from the first line. I loved the quotes you wrote at the beginning of the chapters which set the mood for each chapter. I can't tell you how much I will miss David, Twoey and their gang. And of course Tommy -- the best brother on the planet! I'm crying now thinking I won't see them again. It's like losing a part of your family. I agree with everyone who wrote that these characters have become like a part of my life, where I want to "catch up" with them and see what they've been up to. Now I won't be able to. I did have a question though: What the hell was everyone whispering to David????? lol That's gonna drive me nuts now! Skinny, you've outdone yourself with this story. I can't tell you how wonderful/sad/scarychilling/happy/tearful/joyful it was. Among lots other emotions I can't think of at the moment. lol Toph will be ending soon also, so you better have another story planned for us!!!! -
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!!!!! I hope you have a terrific b-day!
-
And you made me cry again, Skinny. Toph's mom NEVER hugged him? Did she ever kiss him? Doubtful. How or why on earth did she have so many kids if she has no maternal instinct? Did she ever hug or kiss her other kids? How can a mom never hug or kiss her kids? To me, it's unfathomable. Gary is such a pillar of strength for Toph. But I don't see Toph as the little bloom he sees himself as. I see Toph as being a strong, independent young man. Yes, he has family issues, much of these issues relating to his mother, but hopefully Moms can help (she's terrific, btw). I also think visiting Steve is a great idea. Toph has to find out if Steve was in cahoots with his mother to "win" Toph back. Next month (in Toph time) will certainly be a busy one. I am looking forward to his sister's wedding. Oh, I forgot to mention in the last chapter's review - I love Teddy! I think he could be a great friend to Toph and Gary.
-
Well, Skinny, ya had me all choked up at the end. What a beautiful thing Gary's parents did in buying Texas Boys to give to Gary. Now the boys will always be fresh in G&T's minds. I'm glad Toph has the painting back; I was really sad when he thought he'd never see it again. Gary's parents are great, and I hope Toph always remembers wealth doesn't necessarily mean being distant and unloving. Along with the rest of your readers, I'm hoping the interview wasn't as bad as Toph seems to think it was.

Signature Feature September's Signature Feature: The Art Of Being Gay By Cole Matthews

Ah, and yet ANOTHER story I need to read! lol Hmmm, maybe I can read it all by Wednesday... -
What could possibly be on that flashdrive that Jason wouldn't know about? I'm glad Jason's dad is cool with his being gay. His mom and Denise though, are just downright crazy! lol They need PFLAG, stat! As usual, Mitchelll, you leave me wanting more!
-
So surprising to hear that NIkolai was such a snake. I assumed he was the love of Shane's life. Hmmm, maybe JASON is the love of his life! I can't wait to hear what happened with Nikolai and where he is now. It's just so strange that Viktor took such a liking to Shane and is taking care of him despite his own son not being in the picture anymore. I'm glad J&S were finally able to talk openly and honestly, and I'm glad Jason was truthful with his feelings for Shane. Now I see there's a new chapter for me to read!
-
I'm glad B & B are back to being best friends. Although Dustin won't be happy about this. He's very jealous of Brett. He's going to be pissed at Billy for even forgiving him, never mind Brett staying over! Brett needs some moral support when he talks to his mom, so I'm glad Billy is going to go with him. I'm curious to what she's going to admit to. Great chapter, Jeff! (I was picturing Billy's mom or dad coming home from work early and finding B&B in a most compromising position! Thank God THAT didn't happen! lol)

CONGRATULATIONS, VAL!!!! I'm so happy for you! This is such a well-deserved promotion!

Week Eighteen Monday Dec 29, 2014: Peaches and Cream
Lisa commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Eighteen Monday Dec 29, 2014: Peaches and Cream
Whew! What an awesomely great chapter this was, Skinny! I was actually wondering (and forgot to mention in my last review), why David didn't apologize to anyone at the party. But this way was nicer. I'm glad the visit with Donny went well. I think deep down Donny did care about David. What was that David whispered in Gary's ear though? We still need to find out if Chuck and Donny hit it off? I hope so. Maybe that's why Donny was so understanding when David broke it off with him. On to the next chapter. -
Week Seventeen Sunday, December 28, 2014: Fruit Fly
Lisa commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Seventeen Sunday, December 28, 2014: Fruit Fly
Whew! I can finally breathe! I was holding my breath from the moment Alex called David. Thank God she realized what he was going to do and enlisted her brother to help. It's amazing what a couple of hours talking to someone who's been through the same exact thing (well, except for the child abuse), can do for a person. David has a whole new outlook on life --- a hopeful one. I was crying when he went up to Twoey, held him, and made his announcement. I was soooo proud of him!!! Alex really came through for him, and Ricky helped him in a way no one else could --- because no one else has been there in David's shoes. Except Ricky. This was such a wonderful chapter, Skinny!!! I know David has a long way to go, but I think with the support of Tommy and all his friends, including of course his ff Alex (fruit fly)(much better than fag hag), he'll be fine. He still needs to sort out the sexual abuse trauma, hopefully with a new therapist and repressed memories. Will he still go to that repressed memory place in Syracuse? Wonder what will happen when Tommy's father gets back... -

Goddammit! I had this whole review done, and I pressed the wrong effing button! Ok, Readers' Digest version: Why the hell isn't Danny trying to stop David from planning his suicide? Why isn't he fighting for David to live? Shit, I had more, but I forgot everything else I wrote! And now I have to go. I think I'm all caught up now though, so I'll start reading the next chapter after my 8 pm meeting. -
Week Seventeen Friday, December 26, 2014: Meltdown on Ice
Lisa commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Seventeen Friday, December 26, 2014: Meltdown on Ice
I'm probably getting this chapter and the next one mixed up (I read them both late last night), but since I'm the last one to read these chapters, I won't be spoiling anything for anyone! Thank GOD the bottle of vodka was only 1/2 a liter. So if Ginny knows what David did, why in hell's name isn't she calling Gary's father (and by the same token, why isn't Gary running to get his father?). It's preposterous that Tommy's father and Tommy's aunt just take off like this. I mean, David isn't even sixteen yet, is that even allowed? You can't leave a fifteen year old in charge of a thirteen year old for a week (was it a week? I forgot). Why is Tommy the only one who noticed that David didn't eat breakfast? Or that he didn't talk to anyone? And echoing your other reviewers, why hasn't Tommy said anything to his father? -

Well, I can't add anything different from what everyone else said. David's thoughts are sad. Sad and scary. All I wanna do is hug him. I'm with Jess; I just want to go to David and hug him and tell him everything will be ok and he has his whole life ahead of him. He's really scaring me with where his head's at.
