  1. What Are You Dressed Up For? Casey woke with a start. It was just the hint of a touch, but he scrambled backwards from the sensation. He was obviously panicked, gasping for breath. His eyes began to focus on the face in front of him. The boy had a deep tan and dark hair falling over one eye, but the other held a look of concern. “Wh-what are you doing?!” Casey demanded. “Who are you, and why did you touch me?!” The boy, who had been squatting in front of Casey, softly sat on the ground. He
  2. I just posted a new chapter, What Are You Dressed Up For? You can find it here, https://www.gayauthors.org/story/rustle/notdoneyet/2. I must've screwed something up in posting, because it's not showing up in announcements, but it's really there. Trust me. I hope you'll take the time to read it, and comment. It's kinda lonely in here without you. O.o peace

Thanks. I like their world, too.
  5. I watched it a second time, just to watch his interpreter signing. Her facial expressions were incredible.

    My Bloody Valentine!

I think you'd be crazy NOT to do it. It sounds like a blast!
  8. I've never written anything more than a single chapter short story before, and only a couple of those, so I've never started a thread. The first piece I posted on GA was my first ever creative writing project, and it was recounting a personal adventure. The second piece I posted was my first piece of fiction ever. This time out, I'm writing and posting multiple chapters. It's also my first try at using a third person voice. One thing has remained the same so far. I want to thank K.C. for all his help and encouragement. Without him egging me on, I would have never tried writing, myself. I'm very fortunate to have a real author helping me, making suggestions, and giving honest feedback. It's gratifying to see people liking and following the story one chapter in, and I hope they continue to. A number of chapters are completed, and I'll continue to work on this, to try to keep up a regular posting schedule until the piece is finished. Thanks to those of you who have read, so far. Thanks to those who have commented. Hopefully, as this moves on, more of you will. I'd really like to know what you think works well, and what you think could be better. No matter how much or how little I write, I want to improve. I also want to say thanks to the management, staff, and community of GA for the forum and opportunity to do this. rusty

    Bill Cosby

I like your point about not knowing the accusers, and not placing the word of one stranger over that of another. The presumption of innocence is important, too. Not knowing any of the parties, not being personally involved, not being a fan, I have no skin in the game. All of this, if it happened, happened a long time ago, and social mores have changed a great deal, too, just as in the US, we now refer to African Americans, because Black is somehow deemed less dignified. Am I interested in whether or not Bill Cosby sexually assaulted these women? Mildly. But my sun will not rise or set any differently.

  16. "There is no new thing under the sun." King Solomon wrote it in Ecclesiastes. He was quoting somebody else.

    New In Town

New in Town False dawn cast a warm half-light on the street leading to the center of the small town. Houses were starting to huddle in closer to one another. A boy on a bicycle wearing a grey baseball cap pedaled slowly, aimlessly. Stopping in the middle of the bridge, he laid down his bike and slipped off his backpack to pull out an apple. Polishing it on his damp t-shirt, he peered down at the river, flowing lazily below. Small eddies were barely visible, except when a leaf would catch in o
  19. Sure there is. It happened a decade ago.
  20. They don't know it's rehashed. They never saw it the first time around. Years later, when they realize it's a redo, they'll probably still identify with the version they grew up with, because it reminds them of when they saw it the first time, and they'll have an attachment.

What does he hope for? oblivion He fears attention, and he's very good at hiding.
  23. I love his sign -"the band on same-sex marriage" - further indication of the level of education and sophistication these "preachers" attain. Why does our society glorify Old Testament bronze age thinking from one part of the world and condemn it as superstition in another?

    What?

I'm sorry for your loss, Joann. They say that as long you remember somebody, they're not really gone. I hope you always have a clear memory of her.
  25. 21? Wow! Happy Birthday! Do something to excess to celebrate!
