I had much the same feeling @LeatherNickLondon, what I liked best about this was the underlying themes of catharsis...

And we know the bitches witches have something up their proverbial sleeve....is Ray the chosen one to end the strife between the three groups??? The witches? As if they needed to be told… But diplomatic curtesy demanded to keep them officially updated.

I don't know if the Senator fully understands the implications facing him...and kudos to Bryce for standing up for himself...the following gave me much admiration for him... “I’m okay dad.” He turned to smile tearily up at Nicolo, wiping a hand across his nose. “I’m okay papà. I’ve said my piece. I will be okay.” I reached up to pull out his hair tie, and ruffled it. He was so strong, I knew he really would be okay. He turned back to give me a smile too.

Am I wrong in thinking Jolanda is her own worst enemy??? But would Josel care about her looking like this? It wasn't the first time the same worry had flooded Jolanda's mind. She felt herself trembling - so upset was she. No, Josel had to care about her! After all, she was Vargan. If Jolanda wanted Josel to love her, then the boy would love her. I suspect at some point the disparate groups of evil doers will end up fighting one another....

Loved the title of this chapter, fills my head with all sorts of ideas and remembrances...I just may find a use for it somewhere, with all due credit of course... If I remember correctly, they had bumped into each other prior to traveling and nearly had a fight then...from the previous chapter... I was starting to believe the golden retrievers were truly insane. And if this was only around average version of their behavior… how terrifying could the extreme be? But what truly chilled me to the bone wasn’t the fire. It was the crowd—the onlookers. If the concept of the banality of evil had taught me anything, it was that everyone is responsible… “Hey! What the hell!” A sudden jolt snapped me out of my thoughts. I shouted, swatting away the paw that had clearly tried to pickpocket me. “Thief!” The chaos and noise around us were still overwhelming. No one paid attention. So I stepped forward and grabbed the culprit. “What?” He turned around, his hood falling back—revealing a spotted dog with black spots on his face. “What kind of bullshit are you spewing now?” “You tried to steal from me—don’t think I didn’t notice,” I snapped, adjusting my now-disheveled cloak. “You serious?” The spotted dog yanked his arm free and brushed himself off like I was some kind of dirt. “You calling me a thief just because I bumped into you?”

Despite the odds...we know out Zorro lives to continue the tale, just how is a mystery....now why did the spotted dog place the photo with Zoro????

But of course... So I did what any horny and depressed young buck in my position would do. Why, I burned down my father’s inn. Of course.
