I'm at a loss for words, and I think our esteemed @Summerabbacat hit the proverbial nail on the head... This was a telling chapter, one of your best yet!

Marie-Louise...she's like the Pig Pen character from the cartoon strip Peanuts, dirt just follows her everywhere...

I think @drpaladin has the gist of it and loved the following... “You are picking a rather inconvenient day to be obstinate,” Wojciech rolled his eyes, a hint of exasperation in his tone. “Try Shazam.” “I’m only abstinent today ‘’cause you said no this mornin’,” Stoker grumbled, though he took the pill, extricating himself from Wojciech’s arm. He steeled himself, taking a deep breath, as he held his hand over the pool, swallowing down his nervousness. He glanced again at Wojciech, seeking confirmation that he was doing it right.

After one of the wettest springs on record, the summer has been surprisingly dry, no rain to speak of this month. Weather forecasters are calling for another dry week and best yet...4 to 5 days of Mississippi weather here in Massachusetts...mid to high 90's and humidity from hell...that leaves/begs the question...is hell a dry or wet heat????

Jack's parents have to know on some level that they are facing serious consequences in their treatment of their son. Is there knowing worse than the ignoring? Sadly, Nick is confronted with all sorts of unpleasant "adult" decisions he'd rather not make.... Noah... Creating and letting unsavory rumors fly... Lack of communication when both are off campus... Not listening to Nick's reasoning for not jumping into sexual behaviors... Turning every moment they are both alone into sexual advances... Noah isn't, despite prostrations to the contrary, isn't in love with Nick; he's in love with the idea of sex with Nick... Jonah... Despite all the fluff surrounding him, he displays reasoning far beyond his years... He was spot on in his confrontation with Noah... Jack... Gives Nick everything he's looking for that Noah can't or won't... intimacy before sex... His behavior towards his parents screams, "I'm your son, love me, damn it!!!" They don't see him other than a picture on the wall, a mute trophy to display... Nick... Growing up is painful, making decisions on your own is fraught with peril... Noah is a one-track pony as he plays with your feelings...You know Jonah pegged him for what he is...is he hopless...no...but he's got some growing up to do... Keep Jonah close, Christian for that matter as well... And now for the truly scary part...the pictures of Jack's back...you can't sit on them, considering the possibilities the next time he goes home...What would you say to future Nick if the abuse escalates, seriously harming him, beyond what he's already suffered, endangering his life???

Seing Chris with Dante brought back images of what life in the mills must have been like once again...here's hoping he never has to go back... Where did this Frank come from??? Frank gave a reassuring hum and rubbed his nose against Dante's temple. "Even though I can't relate to that for understandable reasons- thank you." "For what?" Dante wanted to know confused. "For talking about your feelings," Frank replied quietly. "I can see this is bothering you, and that honestly hurts, but... I'm glad you're talking about it. With me." Coupled with this, do we have a ticking time bomb???

There's gonna be drinking at the falls... Colt may or may not come home; it is yet to be decided if he overnights...will there be his significant other there??? Boy or Girl??? Kids from Joel's school may be there...What do they know??? Will they talk??? There's gonna be drinking at the falls...chances are something ugly is gonna happen to either Joel or Colt... There's a lecture awaiting Colt upon his return...about his attitude... And what of the twins? How will they factor in all of this hot mess??? There's gonna be drinking at the falls...will the drinking lubricate Colt enough so he can pass the ginormous stick stuck in his posterior???? Who will Joel have his first kiss with...Colt...Davin...Gavin, or a player to be named later??? There's gonna be drinking at the falls...what could possibly go wrong...right???

As noted previously, there's so much more to the lad; in some ways, he's better suited to navigating this strange new existence...Not that Hugo is helpless, but he's still a bit out of his depth...

You gotta love Dawn, such a sensible person!! I still get the feeling Gray will find some success with the radio programs and that Jacob will most likely be heard and seldom seen as he gets on with his studies and employment!!! These chapters feel so incredibly comfortable, like wearing my favorite relaxing clothes just out of the dryer!

Let's not forget that Alan has a propensity, demonstrably so for looking/showing/and straying...he is not the monogamous type... What more needs to be said...
