Several things come to mind after reading this powerful chapter... We now know that there are four decks, this leads me to believe at some point/somehow, that they are interconnected...are there 'other' card games being played??? If they are interconnected, then, for the lack of better words, upper management has/ must have noticed some odd occurrences in their lower, nether regions....loss of income, employees failing to check in, someone isn't shuffling the deck correctly, or a case of a bad rash that simply won't go away? On the other hand, the Don seems to have garnered the cooperation of some of the other families...which brings to mind security, now more than ever, there will be attempts by the Suites to cover any odd or lose ends.... If there was a 'mole' who was able to penetrate "Witness Protection', just how far as this insertion gone, it's more and deeper that a Saturday night fumble in the back of someone's station wagon....speaking of protection, did/does the 'Mole' use 'protection' during his penetration(s), or was there some leakage??? Like others the tissue industry is loving this story as I can personally attest to...my go-to product now is...

I have to agree with the comments above...but...my psychotic psychic abilities make me think that somehow Victor just may be the reason Jonah's 6 months of 'probation' just may be in jeopardy...that and Jonah's father was a closet case of the worst sort.... “My parents died in December. A week before Christmas. It was a car accident and I was in the car too. But Social Services took custody of me and so I’m technically in foster care. But there was this huge, long process to get me up here. And this mean judge told me that she would allow me to come here for six months on a trial run and if all went smooth, I would stay permanently.”

I need to get some of this out all in one shot." Avery nodded. "Last year, a boy from my town went missing. It just may be my senility kicking in but is the timeline correct???

I just can't find any reason to like Harris...there's no substance to him after breaking up with what's his name....a walking advert for safe sex....

Thanks for this, near the end there is a couple of paragraphs that repeat themselves....both start with... "I think I hear the plane", he told them. His hearing has always been very acute and less than a minute later, the plane soared overhead, wagging it's wings up and down before circling around to begin it's final approach to the landing strip. By the time it passed back overhead again, the Landrovers could be heard driving away to the collect the latest arrivals - one for the guests and the other for Harry and the luggage. Harry would just stay for lunch before flying back to Johannesburg. The two young owners stood up to prepare for the guests arrival. "Marie, would you and Paul keep an eye on our four and Rascal please? We told Vivian we would be at the main entrance as part of the welcoming party. The arriving guests are apparently VIP's. We actually should have asked who they were". Marie smiled at him "Yeah, sure Drew! No problem! Have fun!", she said brightly, waving them away. I need to find or learn how to make some Koeksusters...and as always love to see Dan and Joan~!!!

The following nearly broke me...so much power in those words... “My uncle is the only blood relative I have left. He molested me and a lot of the other boys you see. Now I have a new family. One that loves me. I’ve got a new dad and a new mom. I also have a ton of brothers, including this special guy.” Thomas slowly leaned in to place a gentle kiss on the top of Micah’s head. “I’ve learned that I can choose my own family. I’ve got room for two more brothers if you’re interested. Now we have a new organization in the mix, the Clubs...a US/Mexican drug/human smuggling/crime, take no prisoners outfit. I can't imagine that there is any tie-in with either the Deck or the Mafia...but then again, the name Clubs gives me pause.... The next two pieces of paper had arrived with the missing person profile. The first was a copy of the boy’s birth certificate, his father’s name glaringly absent. The second sheet was a police report. Micah’s mother had been found dead in her missing son’s bed. Her throat had been slit, and her ovaries had been surgically removed but never found. Local authorities had been baffled at the time, but Ben thought the message was clear. Whoever killed Micah’s mother had taken her kids, both present and potential. They don't play nice and will go to the ends of the earth to get what was/is theirs back, what new threads/wrinkles have we added to this tapestry?

Like others have said, Adam's mother needs a series of colonics...she could be serious trouble if not gelded...yes...gelded... I keep coming back to why did Adam and his father need rescuing, what happened??? And I thought dealing with pirates was a difficult and deadly endeavor... “That is already happening, Mom. I had lunch planned today with him, on board here and that was changed to another location with his entire family at their request.” Mom just rolled her eyes and looked at Dad. “Already. Wonderful.” He thought for a minute. “Let’s just cancel it then. We’ll use the Nova Provider’s arrival as an excuse.” I looked at both of my parents as they planned my life right in front of me.

Loving the way this story is developing, so well written and descriptive, rich in nuance and details!!! MORE PLEASE!!!!

Thanks for this, life goes on and the 'golden' years can be just as enjoyable as the earlier years, and so much richer!!!
