One wonders if the Central Foundation Boys' School is a boarding school or a day school?

The beginning of this chapter reminded me of an old TV show, Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader, only we have third graders working here... The Crown of Red Herrings is strongly being considered for at least two likely suspects, which in and of itself is another colossal red herring. It is early days, and the author is seriously indicating that either Aiden or Catlin, whilst other worthwhile suspects remain lurking in the lily pond weeds. The man banging on the bedroom door, breaking up Joey's insemination seminar... The man jumping the fence, did he or was he banging Keiyara... Then there's the rock, and we all know rocks can't talk, but...DNA can sing a pretty impressive tune.... Joey's father, I would suspect his only reason would be money, either paying for college or a possible life insurance policy. Or it could have been accident as a result of a fight that night near the pool... Keyara's roommate, did Joey bang her also.... And I feel terrible about this, could it have been Joey's mother.... Aiden is up to something, he's moving all too fast... For someone needing hope and help, Catlin is not all that accepting of hope, help, and confirmation of the pregnancy... Someone has to tell Adam to start acting rationally... We've yet to see Miss Scarlet or Colonel Mustard appear....

Here's hoping in this case the goblin isn't alone....

This chapter was a reminder of where we have come from and how much further we have to go...

While society may have grown into this type of society, it certainly fits the definition of dystopian. That given an approximation of equal ratio of men to women, that fully a large portion of the population has nothing but their backs and labors to the "progress" of this society. It is beyond sad that someone could be born and die never having the chance to improve oneself, that the only escape from those brought into the mill might be a longing for a dip into the pool of molten steel as those born into it, know no better. Then there is Matthew, an educated man, one among a select few, who lack the ability to see past what is, and what could be. I'm often reminded as I peruse our society as it is, reminding myself of history's lessons, we so blithely ignore. Internal pressures never go away; the Russian Revolution of 1917 proves this. Or when large parts of our society, vote without thinking, believing the falsehoods of demagogues, that your neighbors are eating your dogs and cats...or when our leaders lie without shame...That colleges and universities are now being told that the key to unlocking federal funds is to teach the current administration's agenda.... Ooops...time to give my soapbox a rest...

Something about Jack Taylor isn't ringing true. Could he possibly have had an insurance policy on Joey? The whole thing about misremembering Will's phone number is interesting, seeing as how it was written down for him... Catlin is becoming suspect #1...is she being set up with her bad acting, mysterious ways, is she an all too obvious red herring??? Aiden's suggestion that he see a lawyer before giving her any money is interesting and on point. How will she react to such, seeing as how she won't allow company on any of her doctor's visits??? Then there is Aidien's desire to get married all too soon. Where was he at the time of Joey's death? Wasn't he the one who "found" the misplaced note? Searching that bedroom by himself would have given him time to conveniently 'place the discarded copy...Is he trying to cast any suspicion aside by rushing into marriage???

I'm looking forward to Gavin getting his just desserts....someone should use their phone to record what Gavin and A-Hole Jr are saying/doing....
