The comments above covered most of my thoughts very well. Like others, I don't think anyone should let their guard down. I'm not sure just how far this crew should go in surveying the outlying areas. The further they are from their base, the more trouble they could get into. I am sure the smoke from the fire at the lumberyard will attract others, and some of those may not be zombies, but those with ill intent. Those who simply take what they want/need by any means necessary... Simply a fantastic chapter, and Buck's conversations with Shannon were so well descripted!

I'd be very leery of signing all of my rights to the designs away, and accepting a position on The Board of Directors and settling for profit sharing....What would stop the other members of the Board from deciding to terminate your contract 6 months or a year down the road...leaving you with bupkis...and more than likely, a non-compete clause in your termination....

Enjoyed this very much! When I was working the office needed to send me to the NYC office. Myself and the Director of IT flew down and on the taxi ride back from our sojourn to the office, we were in one of the tunnels. Coming in the opposite direction was a box truck in our lane after he had bounced off the the tunnel wall on his side. We narrowly missed being hit, and in the traffic jam coming of of the tunnel to the airport, two taxi's in front of us had a minor fender bender, trying to squeeze each other out of the lane. From that point on, whenever I had to go to the NYC or DC office, it was by Amtrak Acela, a ride I thoroughly enjoyed, as I was able to book first class!!!

I'm wondering if at some time in the past, Kellen f'uped with his magical abilities and subconsciously has burried his magical abilities...
